Meet Latina Bohemian

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Latina Bohemian. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Latina, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?

How I keep creativity alive is by believing in it. There are defining moments where “creating” feels frustrating, unknowing, and exciting. You could say a rollercoaster metaphorically, with ups and downs. It serves as timeless inspiration, being both a muse and a guide. It inspires me as a human to always keep my imagination wide and find insight in others.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Well, I am known for my creative writing and previous and current journalistic work. Besides that, I want people to know that I’m an arts advocate. Art truly holds a special place in my heart. Growing up, it was therapeutic and a dear friend of mine.

I hope people find comfort in art; art is comforting.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Areas of knowledge that have been influential are the arts, personal development, and language.

Arts: The many worlds of artistry that have been fundamental in the past and present.

Personal Development: The magnitude of imperfections and processing them. Self-acceptance and navigating through its unexpected surprises.

Language: Something I consider essential for being a bilingual individual. I appreciate the gift of culture. Being able to speak a second language is a true blessing.

In terms of “advice,” I would say this: don’t be hard on yourself. I’ve spent an entire decade being hard on myself. There will be cloudy seasons and thunderstorms. But never let them lead you astray.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?

Living in the moment. What I analyzed is something I’ve been told repeatedly: time is short and not rewindable. I had to learn to just be, which can be uncomfortable and refreshing.

Surrendering became key, and now ‘I am trying to live, not outlive.’
