LaTonya, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
“My generosity comes from a place of deep understanding and lived experience. Raised by a single father, married and divorced before I even graduated high school, and navigating life on my own ever since, I have faced struggles that could have hardened me—but instead, they fueled my desire to give. I know what it feels like to be without support, to push through pain alone, and to fight for a better life. Because of that, I choose to be the person I once needed. My hardships didn’t break me; they built within me a heart for others. Giving back is more than just kindness—it’s my way of ensuring that no one else feels as alone as I once did. It’s a reflection of my strength, my survival, and my purpose.”
I give because I understand what it’s like to feel invisible, and I never want someone else to experience that. Through my own journey of healing, I’ve learned that the greatest gift I can give is love, support, and the reminder that there is always hope—even in the darkest times. My generosity is not just an action—it’s a part of who I am, a reflection of everything I’ve overcome.”

What I Do & What Makes It Special
As a holistic life coach, author, and the founder of 1 Heart Health and Wellness, my mission is to guide others through their personal healing journeys. Having been through my own struggles—raised by a single father, navigating trauma, and overcoming the challenges of being on my own—I’ve learned firsthand the power of perseverance, strength, and compassion. What excites me most is helping people realize they don’t have to stay stuck in their pain. I provide the tools and support needed to heal, grow, and discover a renewed sense of purpose. Whether it’s through one-on-one coaching or the educational programs offered at 1 Heart Health and Wellness, my approach is always centered on empowering others to rise above their struggles and embrace their personal power.
What I Want You to Know
My work is deeply rooted in my own experiences, which makes it relatable and effective. I know what it feels like to face life’s toughest challenges and come out stronger on the other side. Because of this, I approach every client with compassion and a genuine desire to help them transform their lives. The process isn’t just about surviving; it’s about thriving. By incorporating holistic techniques that nurture the mind, body, and spirit, I guide individuals to rediscover their strength and find joy in the journey ahead.
What’s New
I’m thrilled to announce the expansion of my services, with new workshops and online courses that will offer deeper insights into mental wellness, personal empowerment, and healing. Additionally, this summer, I’ll be hosting a live event where like-minded individuals can come together, share experiences, and gain new tools for growth. I can’t wait to connect with more people and continue supporting their journeys of transformation.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Resilience
Life has thrown many obstacles my way, but I’ve always bounced back. Resilience has been my foundation, allowing me to push forward even when everything seemed impossible. It’s the ability to adapt, face challenges head-on, and continue moving toward your goals no matter the setbacks. In my journey, resilience meant not letting circumstances define me. Instead, I chose to define my path.
Advice: To develop resilience, it’s important to embrace the tough times as opportunities for growth. Don’t shy away from adversity. Instead, look at it as a chance to learn and strengthen your resolve. Remember, resilience isn’t about avoiding hardship but building the strength to move through it with grace.
Self-Belief
In times when I didn’t have the support I needed, it was my belief in myself that kept me going. I learned that if I didn’t believe I could make it, no one else would. Believing in yourself means trusting that you have the inner strength to navigate life’s challenges and make decisions that align with your purpose. It also means knowing that you are worthy of success and happiness.
Advice: Cultivate self-belief by taking small steps each day toward your goals. Start by setting achievable milestones and celebrate each one, no matter how small. Surround yourself with positive influences that uplift and encourage you. And most importantly, stop doubting your potential—believe in your ability to change your life.
Empathy and Compassion
Having faced so many struggles, I developed a deep empathy for others. I understand the pain of loneliness, the weight of trauma, and the fear of uncertainty. This empathy has been a driving force behind my desire to help others. Compassion isn’t just about feeling for someone else; it’s about offering support, kindness, and understanding without judgment.
Advice: To improve empathy, start by really listening to others without interrupting or trying to fix things right away. Allow people to express their feelings and be present with them. Practice self-compassion as well, because you can’t fully give to others without first taking care of yourself. The more you practice compassion in your daily life, the more it becomes second nature.
Final Thoughts
If you’re early in your journey, know that developing these qualities takes time, but it’s worth every ounce of effort. Life won’t always be easy, but with resilience, self-belief, and compassion, you can overcome any obstacle. Keep pushing forward, even when the road gets tough. And always remember—your story isn’t over yet.
