Hi LaTonya “LadyDiva “, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from being a hardworking woman, a wife , a mother, a business owner and how to balance it all . Life expectations can easily overwhelm us mentally, emotionally, spiritually and physically but by the grace of God I strongly believe all things are possible and he’ll never put more on me than I can bear. As a Wife and Mother I know how busy life can be to the point you really don’t have time nor the patience to organize anything . However, I’ve learn Organization is a part of all areas in our lives. If your mind is cluttered, your life and home is cluttered. Once you purge things, that no longer serves you purpose and sort out the remaining items you love giving them a home , you’ll receive more clarity , peace and relaxation. My goal is helping hardworking women ages 25-80 with functional home organization preventing them feeling overwhelmed in their physical and mental space and teaching them how to save money by utilizing items they already have.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
When I was a child , I would sort out all of my Barbie dolls and their accessories because it made sense to me to categorized them. Once I became a Wife and Mother of 3 , I found myself decluttering and organizing everything in our home including the homes of family and friends. God gave me a vision and a name in 2016 to start my organization business. LadyDiva’s Divine Beauty Reform. Lady is how I carry myself and D.I.V.A is an acronym. I have a DIVINE INSPIRATIONAL VICTORIOUS ATTITUDE. Divine Beauty Reform spiritual meaning is everything of God is delightful and people can change for the greater good in life. When the world shut down due to Covid , I prayed for guidance, took a leap of faith and launched LadyDiva’s Divine Beauty Reform (LDDBR) with safety precautions on August 24, 2020. I failed forward in 2021 , rebranded in 2022, received overflowing blessings utilizing my creativity by designing home organization gift baskets for all occasions in 2023 . All gift baskets designs has some sort of organizational solutions including the baskets itself. As of 2024 Gift Baskets designs became a higher demand for LDDBR . So therefore the products (Baskets) increased by 75% and the service ( Home Organization) is now 25% of the business. Gift Basket Designs and hosting PopUp Shops for small businesses sets LDDBR apart from other businesses. I’m a strong believer in when stumbling blocks hits your pathway you can’t be at a standstill you have to continue to move forward because there is always a sunshine after stormy weather. We are the light that shines in the midst of darkness. This inspires me to call my my tribe Diamonds , because it reflects lights in an unparalleled way, especially when placed under directional spotlights. I love empowering women while organizing their homes and seeing the smiles on customer’s face when they purchased/received their gift baskets for all occasions.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The 3 Qualities that are most impactful in my journey is Self -Belief , Investing in myself and Never Giving Up . I highly encourage everyone to pursue your passions and have the understanding your gifts will make room for you. Life is a journey not a destination. Enjoy the process by continuing to educate yourself by tapping into your industry or ministry , hire a mentor or a business coach , surround yourself with likeminded individuals who inspires you, learn from your mistakes as well as others before you , have the understanding it’s ok to pivot , sometimes a change of plans in your business will be necessary to make things run smoothly. Fail Forward utilizing your failures as lessons to lead towards success.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Whenever I’m feeling overwhelmed I automatically say a prayer to God to block out all negativity away from my life and thanking him for unconditional love , guidance, his grace and mercy. I literally go on a sabbatical to regain peace in my life . Self Care is extremely important, it’s a requirement for me to take care of myself first in order for me to take care of others personally and professionally. During this sabbatical I would either limit or will not take any phone calls , check emails, or be on social media . I listens to Gospel or uplifting R&B music such as Unstoppable by Koryn Hawthorne (Gospel Artist), Grateful by Ebony Jensen (Gospel Artist) , Out Here Trusting God by Anita Wilson (Gospel Artist ) and Happy Feelings by Frankie Beverly & Maze (R&B Band) . I read positive affirmation books and study my artistry. I love writing poetry, sketch and craft creating mixed media art. ( a type of visual art that combines more than one medium or material.) Utilizing my gifts that God blessed me with is therapeutic and fulfilling. Life is what you make it everyone should do whatever that makes them happy .
