Meet Laura Angelone

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Laura Angelone. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Laura, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
Overcoming imposter syndrome has been a journey for me, one that’s still ongoing. When I moved to Los Angeles in 2013 after eight years in marketing within the beauty and luxury industry in Paris, I encountered a vastly different environment. Los Angeles was filled with ambitious entrepreneurs and self-proclaimed “gurus,” a stark contrast to the rigid structure I was accustomed to. Initially, I struggled with confidence and felt inadequate compared to others.

Starting from scratch with my fashion influencer Instagram and later my social media company only intensified these feelings. Constantly comparing myself to others left me feeling miserable and on the verge of giving up numerous times. It wasn’t until I realized that many in Los Angeles were also grappling with insecurities and not everyone was committed to genuine, consistent work like I was.

In 2018, I founded my social media company, and despite the challenges, it’s been growing exponentially. My approach shifted—I embraced a mindset of continual learning and transparency with my clients about my skills and limitations. If there’s something I don’t know, I make it a point to learn it. This approach has not only helped me combat imposter syndrome but also propelled me forward in my entrepreneurial journey.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Bonjour! I’m Laura, a social media strategist, stylist, and mom of two. Originally from France, I made the leap to Los Angeles in 2013 for love (tres romantique!) and I still live in the city of Angels.

As the founder of my own social media company, I offer a diverse range of services including consulting, content creation, video/photos editing, and community management. With a keen eye for aesthetics and a deep understanding of digital landscapes, I help brands navigate the ever-evolving world of social media to tell their stories authentically and effectively.

But that’s not all—I also have a passion for fashion! As a fashion influencer with a timeless yet edgy style, I’ve cultivated a side gig that allows me to express my creativity and showcase my aesthetic and inspirations.

I’m passionate about empowering businesses to thrive in the digital realm while balancing the joys of motherhood and the pursuit of personal growth. Let’s connect and bring your brand’s vision to life!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Reflecting on my journey, three qualities stand out:

1. Work Ethic and Consistency: Today, with social media, many young people seek shortcuts. Social Media make them think that making is money is easy. But long-term success demands dedication. A strong work ethic has been vital in my journey. I had to put so many hours in and work day and night if necessary.

2. European Vision: Embracing my French background has allowed me to bring fresh perspectives to my work, standing out in the LA scene. Working in the fashion industry in Los Angeles was extremely challenging at first. because the codes are so different from my Parisian codes. Drawing from my cultural experiences, I’ve infused my projects with a flair “a la francaise”, setting them apart in a competitive market. For those early in their journey, I encourage embracing your own cultural background, experiences, and perspectives. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box and challenge the status quo. Innovation often stems from embracing diversity and bringing new ideas to the table.

3. Power of Networking and Collaboration: Networking isn’t just about making connections; it’s about fostering meaningful relationships. I’ve found that one client often leads to another and so forth, creating a network of support that has been invaluable in my journey. Building these relationships has not only expanded my client base but also enriched my work with diverse perspectives and opportunities.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
One of my biggest challenges in the social media industry is the constant evolution of trends and algorithms. The landscape changes almost monthly, requiring me to stay updated and educated continually. Adapting to these changes while maintaining high-quality work for my clients has been a significant challenge.

To tackle this ongoing challenge, I’m proactively seeking to expand my team with social media enthusiasts who thrive on staying abreast of the latest trends.
