We were lucky to catch up with Laura Franco recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Laura, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Gaining confidence and self-esteem was not an easy task; it took many years and tears. Considering my upbringing in Soviet Ukraine in the 80s, where people were not encouraged to have personalities, be creative, or achieve much in life, I was extremely shy and introverted as a young woman.
As I grew older and realized that my thoughts and talents were worthwhile and valuable, my mindset shifted. Life often presents unexpected challenges that we may feel unequipped to overcome. However, I developed resilience, and confidence and self-esteem followed. I embraced the opportunity to pursue my desires without fear of rejection or appearing incompetent.
I sought knowledge from every encounter and avoided arrogance or ignorance. I believed in sharing my expertise and positive energy with clients and colleagues. Above all, it is vital to appreciate every individual who contributes to our growth, regardless of the nature of the lesson they impart.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’ve been a makeup educator for many years and employee. A lot of my former students to work with me on a various projects. We mainly focus on bridal beauty and photo shoots, but I rarely say no to a fun job.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I would like to offer advice to anyone who wishes to pursue a path in beauty industry,
Go for it, and don’t get discouraged if things don’t work out at first. You might discover a new interests while pursuing your original goal and develop that further.
Be unique and create something that only you can offer.
Lastly, develop your listening and observational skills, and never assume you’re smarter than everyone else.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I would love to collaborate with spas and hair extension companies to create a unique experience for my clients.
This way, my clientele will receive the best value for their time and money and will create a cohesive and stress-free environment for the client.
