We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Laura Marie Rubin a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Laura Marie, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
My optimism comes from my belief that joy is a state of being. This perspective helps me maintain a positive and resilient outlook on life because I focus on the intrinsic ability to experience joy regardless of external circumstances. My work in helping women find what they need to come alive and providing spaces for transformation further reinforces my optimism, as I see the potential for joy and change in others as well.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I create opportunities to help women find what they need to come alive, providing a space where they can tap into the joy of living. The most exciting aspect of my work is witnessing the transformative power of micro experiences that serve as catalysts for change, offering a safe space for personal growth and self-discovery.
My brand is all about helping women find clarity and choose the next steps in their lives, allowing them to stop the chaos, slow down, and reconnect with who they truly are.
Currently, I’m focusing on developing new programs and events that emphasize self-knowing over self-development, providing even deeper and more meaningful experiences for those seeking transformation.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, the three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are self-awareness, resilience, and the ability to foster meaningful connections.
Self-awareness allowed me to understand my own needs and motivations, guiding me toward the right path. Resilience helped me overcome the inevitable challenges and setbacks, teaching me the importance of perseverance and adaptability. The ability to foster meaningful connections provided me with a support network and enriched my experiences, making my journey more fulfilling.
For those early in their journey, I advise focusing on self-awareness by reflecting on your experiences and understanding your core values. Build resilience by viewing challenges as opportunities for growth and maintaining a positive outlook. Lastly, nurture meaningful connections by being open, genuine, and supportive of others, as these relationships can greatly enhance your journey.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is a woman who is ready to slow down and reconnect with herself. She is open to exploring her inner world and committed to discovering what brings her joy and fulfillment. She values self-knowing over constant self-improvement and is eager to embrace transformation through micro experiences. An ideal client is someone who is willing to step out of the chaos of daily life and engage in a journey of self-discovery, seeking clarity and direction for her next steps. She is curious, introspective, and ready to tap into the joy of living.
