Meet Laura Mehall

We recently connected with Laura Mehall and have shared our conversation below.

Laura, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

From a young age, I was taught that if you want something, you have to work for it. That lesson really stuck with me and helped shape me into the person I am today. My work ethic has allowed me to graduate college, build a career I’m passionate about, and continue growing both personally and professionally every single day. I was able to grow into someone who doesn’t take a single thing for granted. I’ve worked my butt off for everything I have, and that makes it all the more meaningful.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Hi! I’m Laura Mehall — a Michigan-based Realtor with Thrive Realty, iced coffee enthusiast, and all-around hype woman for dream homes, good food, and big goals. I help people buy and sell homes, but more than that, I help them step into their next chapter — with confidence and style.

What’s special about what I do? Honestly, everything. Real estate isn’t just about houses to me — it’s about people, stories, and the joy of helping someone say “this is the one.” I work with a lot of families who are selling their current home to upgrade, and I specialize in making that transition feel exciting instead of overwhelming. My background in social media means I bring a creative edge to marketing listings — and my passion for interiors, food, and local culture brings a personal touch to everything I share.

Right now, I’ve got a handful of amazing listings, and I’m also expanding my Thrive Rewards program — a free local business referral network that helps connect my clients and community to trusted vendors and small businesses. Think of it like a real estate version of your favorite insider’s list.

Outside of work, you’ll find me in the kitchen testing new recipes, filming fun lifestyle content, or spending time with my two dogs. My brand is built on realness, humor, and hustle — and I’m so grateful to get to live it every day.

Let’s make something magic happen — whether it’s buying your dream home or just chatting over coffee on Instagram.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1. Resilience:
There will be hard days. Deals fall through, people doubt you, and things won’t always go as planned. But resilience is what keeps you going anyway. I learned early on that setbacks don’t define you — your bounce-back does.

Advice: Don’t take rejection personally. Take a breath, feel it, then keep showing up. The people who win are the ones who keep going.

2. Confidence:
In real estate, in content creation, in life — if you don’t believe in yourself, it’s hard to get others to. I wasn’t always this confident, but I practiced showing up even when I was nervous. Eventually, it became real.

Advice: Start before you’re ready. Talk about what you do. Take up space. Confidence is built through action, not waiting until you “feel ready.”

3. Adaptability:
The market changes. Algorithms change. People change. You have to be willing to shift, grow, and try new things. I started in social media before becoming a Realtor, and I’ve learned to pivot many times since.

Advice: Be a student — always. Learn from others, stay curious, and don’t be afraid to reinvent yourself as you go.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

When I’m overwhelmed, the most important thing I’ve learned is not to act or speak on emotion. I give myself space to cool off and reset. I’ll drive in silence or sit somewhere quiet with no screens or distractions — just me and my thoughts. Once I’ve cleared my mind, I can come back to the situation with clarity and handle it the right way, not the reactive way.
