Meet Laura Owen

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Laura Owen. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Laura, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
My journey towards discovering my purpose of helping people transform their lives through the transformation of their health began with a deeply personal experience. Several years ago, my husband faced a health crisis that shook me to my core. He had a couple of heart attacks, and needed 5-way heart bypass surgery and a pacemaker. He lacked energy, It was a wake-up call, and it forced me to reevaluate our lifestyle choices.

As I embarked on my own health transformation journey, I became increasingly passionate about understanding the intricate relationship between health and overall well-being. I delved into scientific research, experimented with various diets and exercise routines, and sought guidance from experts in the field. Over time, I not only witnessed a dramatic improvement in my own health but also felt a profound sense of purpose. It was during this transformation that I realized my calling lay in helping others achieve similar transformations in their lives.

Though I had always been passionate about health, I began studying nutrition, fitness, and holistic well-being at a higher level. I launched HealthyID to transform lives by transforming their health. Working with national labs, we developed and validated a number of at-home health tests to empower individuals to take control of their health – in the privacy and convenience of their homes. We then developed a clinical weight loss program to help people lose weight – with their health as a priority.

Seeing others regain their vitality, achieve their weight loss goals, and improve their overall quality of life reaffirmed that I had found my true purpose – to empower others to transform their lives by taking control of their health. This journey has been incredibly fulfilling, and I am committed to continuing this path, making a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I launched HealthyID to empower consumers to take back their health – because big pharma, the insurance companies, the processed and fast-food industries, etc have taken over, leaving most of us in very poor health. Our at-home health tests enable consumers can track their health status and progress in the privacy and convenience of their homes. And our clinical weight loss program is a game changer – as we prioritize our client’s health (contrary to most weight loss programs that only focus on the scale, often leaving clients in very poor health at the end of their weight loss journey). This program will launch in December. I am an experienced corporate executive and have founded several companies. I served as adviser to international Ministries of Health, by supporting the transformation of their healthcare systems through partnerships with best-in-class leaders in U.S. healthcare. I served as Interim CEO of Check-6 International, in Houston, Texas, where I successfully completed a tactical turnaround of the company. I was Co-Founder, COO, and President of ICOP Digital, Inc. (NASDAQ: ICOP), a company that engineers and markets mobile video products for first responders, worldwide. I served as Kansas Secretary of Commerce, and was the Midwest Regional Branch Manager for Stephens Inc., the largest investment banking firm in the U.S., off Wall Street. I have served on the Board of Directors of several corporations, universities, nonprofits, and Federal and State boards. That’s a lot of jobs! However, the most important, and most fulfilling jobs of my life, have been as wife, Mom and Grandma.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Faith. The world can be a tough place and we all need a true north. The Bible is my true north, and my faith has given me peace and clarity in some of the most challenging days of my life. Seek God in your life.

Take Care of your Health. Be intentional about your daily habits, as they pertain to diet and lifestyle. There is a lot of noise pushing you to make bad decisions in these areas, but your health is critical to your happiness and success, so it is worth the effort to attain vibrant health. Make sure you know your health status (you can’t change what you don’t measure), and make the effort to learn about ways to improve your health, every day.

Resilience and Adaptability. Life is filled with challenges, setbacks, and unexpected changes. We must be able to learn from our failures, bounce back and adapt to new circumstances – with a positive attitude. Embrace challenges as learning opportunities and put a smile on your face as you work through those challenging times.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
We are looking for partners in the health and wellness space (physicians, med-spas, gyms, etc.) who would like to offer our at-home health tests and/or clinical weight loss program to their clients (for a commission). Also, we are looking for influencers and/or podcasts in the health and wellness space to promote our programs. Finally, we will be conducting interviews with health and wellness experts in many different industries. I would welcome emails from interested parties! My email address is: lowen@HealthyID.com
