We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Laura Ramirez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Laura below.
Hi Laura, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
Impostor syndrome is that quiet (or sometimes loud) inner voice that tells you you’re not ready, not qualified enough, or somehow fooling people—especially when you’re stepping into new or expanded roles. I don’t know that it ever fully disappears, but I have learned how to work with it so it doesn’t stop me.
For me, overcoming impostor syndrome has been about mindset work, building skills & taking action even when scared. When opportunities align with my passion and skill set—even if they feel intimidating, like public speaking or trying something new—I choose to step forward anyway.
Just as important has been having an amazing support network—people who reflect truth back to me, normalize the fear, and remind me of my strengths when self-doubt creeps in. With the right mindset, support, and willingness to take brave action, impostor syndrome loses its power.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I have a private practice based in Central Connecticut, with a vibrant community of local & remote clients. Most of my services are available remotely, making support accessible no matter where you’re located. I offer Life Coaching with a special focus on supporting entrepreneurs who value spirituality, mindfulness, and inner alignment—and who are ready to bring their gifts more fully into the world in a grounded, sustainable way.
I’m also a Reiki Practitioner & teacher who loves offering Reiki sessions to support people in feeling their best—mind, body, and soul. As a Reiki Teacher, I provide a continuum of training, mentorship, and professional support for those looking to integrate Reiki into their personal lives and/or professional work.
You can always see what’s new at my practice on my website, where you’ll find dedicated pages for Coaching, Reiki services, Reiki training, workshops, and more. I’m also active on Instagram and Facebook, and I’d love for you to follow my practice there if you’d like to stay connected.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, there are three qualities and areas of knowledge that have been most impactful in my journey.
First, a strong educational and professional foundation. I have a master’s degree in counseling and over two decades of experience supporting people through change, challenge, and growth. That training translates beautifully into my Coaching and Reiki work—it gives me a solid framework for support, ethical decision-making, thoughtful problem-solving, and knowing when to suggest additional resources. My advice for those early in their journey is to value foundational education & training. If you are working in a service field of any type, investing time in learning that helps you truly understand & support people and how change happens.
Second, a commitment to ongoing personal growth & development. Beyond my traditional education, I’ve taken countless classes in spirituality, mindfulness, and holistic practices, read extensively, and worked with teachers and mentors who continue to stretch my thinking. There are so many ways to learn now—books, online courses, and in-person experiences. The key is figuring out how you learn best and leaning into that. I personally love learning in community and hearing a variety of voices and perspectives, while also honoring seasons where quieter, self-directed learning feels right.
Finally, consistency. Showing up, doing the work, and offering your best—again and again—matters more than perfection or constant reinvention. Growth happens through steady, intentional effort. My advice here is simple: keep showing up. Even on days when confidence wavers, consistency builds trust, skill, and momentum over time.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
The Four Agreements is absolutely one of my foundational books for both personal and professional growth. I reread it every New Year, and at each stage of life, something different rises to the surface and stays with me.
The four agreements—don’t take anything personally, always do your best, be impeccable with your word, and don’t make assumptions—are simple, but deeply powerful. I have them framed in my office as a daily reminder that when I stay aligned in these four areas, there’s very little I can’t navigate with some grace.
If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend picking up a copy of this small but mighty book.
