Meet Laura Sweitzer & Jaclyn Arcuri

We recently connected with Laura Sweitzer & Jaclyn Arcuri and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Laura Sweitzer & Jaclyn Arcuri, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

From an early age, we both loved fashion and clothes. In fact, our mothers taught us that a key part of showing up, is dressing for the room. We were taught that the care we place in choosing our outfits is cornerstone to the image we want to project into the world. We learned and experienced from an early age, how clothes can transform not just the way someone looks, but most importantly, positively impact one’s self-esteem.

As we launched careers in Corporate America, we saw this first hand as we coached hundreds of women on their professional image. We found great satisfaction and meaning working with women to elevate themselves in their professional roles and knew that we wanted to make an impact more broadly.

Our business, Shine Image Consulting, has renewed our sense of purpose as we get to do just that – elevate women across industries, lifestyles and professional journeys. There is nothing better than seeing our clients SHINE in a way that allows them to be their most authentic self.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Shine Image Consulting is a Scottsdale-based image consulting company, offering style guidance and career consulting. As best friends, we are on a mission to elevate women’s holistic image, from what you wear to how you present yourself and everything in between. We are passionate in the belief that all women deserve to SHINE!

We’ve had the tremendous opportunity (and blessing) to mentor and coach hundreds of women throughout our careers.. As self-proclaimed Corporate America dropouts (32 years of combined experience) we built executive level careers in leadership and sales. However, we wanted to do more!

Shine was our opportunity to take our skills outside the four walls of a typical professional career and bring our message more broadly – that what you put on your body is only as good as how you feel and think about yourself on the inside. We personally have seen the impact that simple edits to the wardrobe can do for one’s image and most importantly, their confidence. These changes can provide a natural boost in confidence and authentic personal expression. We have a special place in our hearts and minds for helping women put forward the best version of themselves.

We work with women (and now, men too!), refreshing their wardrobe through 1:1 styling and career consulting. We serve clients all over the United States by helping them make meaningful edits to their professional image so that they can achieve their aspirations!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

While we no longer work in Corporate America, we are so thankful for our Corporate professional experiences as it has laid a foundation of skills that enable us to do what we love to do! We do think it’s important for entrepreneurs or those considering entrepreneurship that there is no “right way” to do anything and the most important thing is just to get started!

With that said, we do believe that communication, problem resolution and perseverance are critical skills and qualities for anyone in entrepreneurship. As a service-based business, we have the privilege and responsibility of interacting with many different types of people. Our ability to communicate with clients and identify solutions to their “problems” is critical to success. Our clients are number one. Without them, we would not exist. The ability to effectively communicate, listen and resolve issues for them is most important in our reputation as a business.

Entrepreneurship is hard. Lots of things go wrong (and right!) and perseverance is paramount! Business can be lonely and you’re only accountable to yourself. Because of that, the willingness and capability to persevere despite the obstacles you encounter is the cornerstone of success!

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?

We are blessed to have a booming business, with wonderful clients. As most companies in their infancy (or teenager years), we are challenged with scaling our services and serving clients at every market. We do believe that style is attainable for everyone and are working on scalable ways to style clients where 1:1 styling may no the feasible for them.
