Meet Lauren Farrell

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lauren Farrell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Lauren, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.
Growing up my mom always had a saying, “kindness of the heart”. She always encouraged us to be kind to one another (siblings) as well as to anyone and everyone. Personally, I have always loved to make people smile and laugh and have always loved giving gifts in particular. With a business that is focused on making a splash in the marketplace, I am able to “gift” lots of different goodies to different people. Whether a t-shirt, koozie, bottle opener or hat, there is nothing better than brightening someone’s day with a little something from our product line of merchandise.
I have also always had a tie to giving back in business operations through charity involvement. As your brand builds a presence, why would you not share that spotlight with something positive and bigger than you or your brand? With Jooicy Tits Vodka we donate 10% of profits from vodka and merch sales to breast cancer charities doing amazing and impactful things.
I’ve always had a big heart and love that that mindset can be incorporated into business as well and believe there is a ripple effect. Even the smallest act of kindness creates positive momentum in a larger way.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Well first off, thank you for having me and for this opportunity. Hello to all of your readers! I created and launched a vodka brand called Jooicy Tits Vodka. What started as a joke in college (and no it was not my nickname) quickly snowballed into an idea. After market-testing the name for eight years, feedback was too positive not to figure out how to get into the liquor industry. People wanted shirts, bottles, cases and to work for me when nothing yet existed. The name also has a certain shock value that helps it be memorable and stick out in a highly competitive and saturated market. So, I did a lot of research and asked the right people the right questions. After some delays due to COVID-19, the brand finally launched in July of 2022. We are in the business of having fun and doing good! And while the bottle or name might be what first grabs your attention, our vodka is an ultra-smooth premium spirit that tastes delicious too and it also gives back. 10% of profits goes to breast cancer charities. We sell in bars and liquor stores in Florida, ship direct-to-consumer in 32 states and will be getting our license to sell to bars and liquor stores in our home state of New Jersey in early 2024.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Persistence, staying true to yourself and your brand and a positive mindset are the three qualities that have been impactful in my entrepreneurial pursuits. You also cannot expect success overnight, it does not exist- and you need to seriously celebrate the small wins along the way. (I’m talking selling that first handbag or bottle is a huge win! Someone, somewhere saw value in what you created and purchased it.) Those wins keep you going in the early stages and eventually compound to create the larger “successes”. Not to mention, those smaller wins are part of the journey and the journey is part of what makes being an entrepreneur so fun!

You have to be very persistent both in the belief in yourself and your idea. Almost to a point of being delusional but in a good way. You need to see the end result so clearly because there are going to be SO many rough and trying times in which that belief will literally be all that you have. You need to get used to seeing the word “no” as a positive thing because at least you’re having an interaction or opportunity to engage with someone. The best is when those no’s turn into a yes because your persistence paid off.

Staying true to yourself and your brand is a massive one. You know who you are and a lot of times your brand is an extension of you…you created it after all. Never ever forget that with any business/product/service you will not be for everyone. That is ok. Those who don’t get it or knock it or are negative towards it, are simply not your customer, ambassador or member of your tribe. Move on because time and energy are too valuable and there are plenty of people who love what you’re offering. Recently there have been great examples of massive failures within big brands who lost market traction and share because they forgot who their audience was and how to speak to them. Never forget your foundation, ideals, what you stand for and who your audience is.

Lastly, the power of positivity is very real and this is where that almost delusional mindset comes in. It doesn’t matter what anyone says or thinks. All that matters is that you remain laser focused on your end goal and foster it with positive and happy thoughts. Sure, shit hits the fan sometimes and you encounter hurdles in business, but they are much easier to overcome with a positive mindset. Our glass is always half-full…with Jooicy Tits Vodka of course!

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
I have been truly blessed to come from a family of the utmost support. While both my parents are very savvy and smart, they are not risk-takers. I therefore, am a “tough child for them to parent” but they have done an incredible job in stepping out of their comfort zones in every which way to help foster my dreams. The most impactful thing they have done for me (aside from being amazing parents) is to have allowed me several opportunities to pursue my entrepreneurial ideas and to have supported them. They also always championed my creative side growing up which is a one of my favorite parts of creating a brand and running a business.

My mom and I always joke that with each act of kindness (shout-out to your earlier question) and selflessness or support for me and my business, her chapter in my book gets bigger and bigger. It’s actually probably quite a few chapters now between the two of them!

While they might not always understand me or the mind of an entrepreneur they are my constant support, cheerleaders, and advocates and have done everything they can to help assist me reaching my business goals and dreams and for that I am forever grateful.
