Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lauren Fonvielle. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Lauren, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from a desire to be the best version of myself. Being a military spouse I’ve had to learn how to make the best of difficult or challenging situations, not only for myself but for my kids. In order to do that, prioritizing myself care routines became a non negotiable. Over the years I’ve learned that putting myself first is not selfish, quite the opposite – it is selfless. Because when I do so, it enables me to show up as the best mom, wife, daughter, sister, and friend possible.
We all go through struggles in life. But it is how we choose to react to those situations that really matters. Everyday I do my best to stay present, and be grateful. I like to remind myself that the dark days make the bright ones that much brighter. That’s not to say it is easy. It’s not. And it is so important to embrace the uncomfortable emotions we encounter. It is through that process that we can grow and begin to heal from the inside out.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am an Integrative Energy Practitioner that specializes in the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT/ Tapping) to help women overcome stress, anxiety, and limiting beliefs in their life or business.
It was through my personal struggles with stress and anxiety that I discovered the powerful modality that is EFT. It quite literally transformed my life, and take my power back. Because of my profound experience, I wanted to share it with other people! I went on to get certified through EFT International, and I now have the honor of guiding women through their own healing journeys.
We all have the answers within. Sometimes we just need a little help accessing those answers. EFT is a tool that helps you do just that! On the first Thursday of every month I offer a free tapping experience for entrepreneurs. This is a great opportunity to learn about how EFT can help you personally and professionally. https://www.mindshiftwithlauren.com/tap-into-success
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1- I’m a big proponent of following the nudges or trusting your gut! If you have an interest in taking a class, or if a friend tells you about something that piques your curiosity, or you read a book that mentions a practice or modality you want to learn more about – give yourself the gift of exploring the different things that interest you. You never know where that just might lead!
2- Know that asking for help is a good thing! You don’t have to go it alone or power through struggling to figure it out. There are so many good people out there that want to be of service help. Get the support that you need on your journey!
3- Listen to your body. Our bodies are innately wise. It is so important to do the work to cultivate a relationship between the mind and the body. When we are stressed we physically feel it. When we are sad or angry or frustrated or overwhelmed, we can physically feel that too. If you don’t hold space for your emotions, your body is going to get louder and louder. No one has time for that. So, listen. Get still. What is your body trying to tell you?
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I’m overwhelmed, I start by acknowledging it. Instead of trying to ignore it and pretend it’s not there, I allow myself to feel it. I try to put words to it. “This overwhelm feels like a ton of bricks on my chest.” I tune into the feeling. And I begin to use my tapping protocol. This typically will lead me down a path of getting more and more specific with why I am feeling the way I’m feeling. Oftentimes I’m surprised by what I discover.
Regardless of the modality you use to explore the emotions, I think taking the time to take a beat and simply be is absolutely critical. Our thoughts create our feelings, our feeling create our actions, and our actions create our results. Understanding where our thoughts come and really feeling them is how we can move through them, and shift our perspective.
