We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lauren Garcia. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lauren below.
Hi Lauren, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from my incredible parents. As a first-generation Cuban American and only-child, I’ve always looked up to them. They have instilled in me the belief that every dream is worth chasing and have supported me in making my visions a reality. My father is my hero. Despite being diagnosed with ALS three years ago, he continually tells me how proud he is of my achievements. His strength and encouragement, even while coping with his diagnosis, inspire me every day. Balancing Bloom, my two other businesses, my role as a pediatric nurse practitioner, and being a wife and mother to two children is no small feat. But my parents’ unwavering belief in me fuels my determination and drive. They are the backbone of my success and the reason I strive to create and grow.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
At Bloom Social Club, we focus on empowering women entrepreneurs and small business owners through our vibrant community events, strategic collaborations, and expert-led workshops. What excites me most about our work is the incredible connections we foster and the tangible growth we see in our members’ businesses. We create a supportive environment where women can thrive, learn, and inspire each other.
Our next big event is the Bloom Bazaar happening on August 22nd at 6:30 PM at Waterside Restaurant. This event promises to be a fantastic evening filled with networking opportunities, shopping small and woman-owned, and a chance to connect with like-minded women. It’s an event you won’t want to miss!
Additionally, we’re thrilled to announce the soft launch of By Bloom Social, our new venture focusing on social media, community, and event management. Our goal is to help businesses amplify their online presence, build strong communities, and execute memorable events. We’re excited about this new chapter and can’t wait to see the positive impact it will have on our community.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back on my journey, resilience, adaptability, and relationship building have been the game-changers. Resilience is like the secret sauce that helps you bounce back from challenges and setbacks, keeping you focused and motivated even when things don’t go as planned. Every bump in the road is just a stepping stone to something greater. Adaptability has been crucial in this ever-changing business world. Embracing new technologies, tweaking business strategies, and staying ahead of the curve keep things exciting and fresh. I’ve always been a fan of continuous learning—attending workshops, diving into industry blogs, and soaking up new ideas like a sponge. And then there’s the magic of relationship building. Networking, collaborating, and forming partnerships have opened countless doors and provided amazing support. For those just starting out, I can’t stress enough the importance of creating meaningful connections. Get out there, attend networking events, join professional groups, and always look for ways to help others. Authentic relationships are the key to unlocking incredible opportunities and forming long-lasting partnerships. So, focus on building resilience, staying adaptable, and nurturing genuine relationships, and you’ll find your journey filled with success, growth, and joy!
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed, I take a step back and breathe. Bloom Social Club has given me an incredible support system that’s been a lifesaver in these moments. Knowing I have a network of amazing women who understand and uplift me makes all the difference. Reaching out to my support system and talking to friends, family, or mentors can provide a fresh perspective and remind me that I’m not alone. Sometimes, just voicing my concerns can lighten the load. Lastly, I remind myself of the bigger picture and why I started this journey. Reflecting on my goals and achievements helps reignite my passion and motivation.
Another big step for me has been learning to delegate. I’ve always been scared to let go of the reins of my business, but I’ve found that entrusting tasks to people who love our community and understand my mission has been incredibly helpful. I make a list of tasks and prioritize them, breaking them down into smaller, manageable steps. This way, I can focus on one thing at a time and feel a sense of accomplishment as I check things off.
For those feeling overwhelmed, my advice is to pause and breathe, break tasks into smaller steps, lean on your support system, and always keep your end goals in sight. Remember, it’s okay to ask for help and take breaks when needed. Balance is key to sustaining long-term success and well-being.
