Meet Lauren (Lo) Cohen

We were lucky to catch up with Lauren (Lo) Cohen recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren (Lo), thank you so much for making time for us today. Let’s jump right into a question so many in our community are looking for answers to – how to overcome creativity blocks, writer’s block, etc. We’d love to hear your thoughts or any advice you might have.

I allow myself to be bored.

We live in a world that moves so fast; endless social feeds, nonstop news, constant stimulation. The onslaught of information is too much some days, and leads a lot of creatives to being a bit numb. It can spark inspiration, sure, but it also pushes us into imitation, where everything starts to look the same.

So I choose to slow down, Honestly, it feels like the most anarchist thing you can do in 2025-Whether it’s hiking through the desert, sitting on a park bench watching the world go by, or writing in a creative-prompt journal, that calmer space is where new ideas and new perspectives on life, love, and art revel themselves.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

LRC Photography is for the couples who do things their own way. I love working with nontraditional pairs who value connection, creativity, and an experience that feels personal and not cookie-cutter.
And outside of weddings, I’m just as passionate about supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs. Building elevated visuals and thoughtful social content that help your brand shine brings me a ton of joy and purpose.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Knowing my own style + staying authentic the biggest thing was learning to trust my eye instead of chasing trends or the industry’s idea of what “perfect” is- its a constant moving target, and theres no use in trying to keep up with it.
2.Telling real stories. For couples and small businesses… whether it’s a nontraditional couple or an entrepreneur building their brand, understanding their story is everything.
3. Making people feel comfortable-my best photos come from creating a relaxed, judgment-free space where people feel like themselves.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?

Following my intuition. I stopped doubting myself, and its incredible the things that come into alignment when you stop worrying about the woulda, coulda, shoulda’s.
