Meet Lauren Mosby

We were lucky to catch up with Lauren Mosby recently and have shared our conversation below.

Lauren, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?

As a wife, mother, and entrepreneur, I’ve learned that self-care isn’t selfish — it’s essential. Women tend to pour into everyone else — our husbands, kids, homes, laundry, businesses — and then have nothing left to pour into ourselves. My version of self-care is simple but meaningful: doing my nails, and taking a nice, long bath with a glass of wine and some good music.

Those moments allow me to slow down, breathe, and remember that I deserve care too. Prioritizing myself has had a huge impact on my effectiveness. I show up with more patience for my family, more clarity for my business, and more confidence in who I am. When I pour into me first, I’m able to pour into everything and everyone else with purpose, energy, and joy. Self-care helps me stay grounded, balanced, and ready to take on whatever comes next.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m a wife, mother, and a multi-passionate entrepreneur dedicated to helping individuals and small businesses build stability, freedom, and long-term success. I am the CEO of Leaving a Legacy LLC — a company focused on empowering families and entrepreneurs through financial education, tax preparation, credit repair, and wealth-building tools. What excites me the most about my work is knowing that I’m helping people change their futures — creating generational wealth and confidence around money where there was once fear or confusion.

Beyond that, I run a successful virtual assistant business where I provide administrative support, bookkeeping, website design, and project management services to busy entrepreneurs who need a trusted partner behind the scenes. I’m also an insurance agent, travel agent, LegalShield associate, notary public, and certified wealth educator — all of which allow me to serve my clients in a full 360-degree way. I truly pride myself on being a one-stop shop for building and protecting both personal and business legacies.

What’s special about my brand is that everything I do is rooted in service and transformation. I’ve walked the journey of discovering entrepreneurship, balancing motherhood, and overcoming challenges — and now I get to help others do the same. I love seeing clients win, whether that means improving their credit score, securing funds for their business, delegating tasks to grow their brand, or simply feeling more in control of their financial future.

Exciting things are on the horizon as well! We’re expanding more educational resources through our Certified Wealth Education programs, launching new tax-related tools for the upcoming tax season, and growing our team of financial and business professionals. I’m also developing mentorship opportunities for aspiring virtual assistants and entrepreneurs who want to step confidently into this world.

Ultimately, my mission is to leave a legacy — not just for my own family, but by helping others build theirs too. I want people to know that success and financial freedom are possible with the right support, knowledge, and a community that believes in you.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three qualities have been most impactful in my journey: resilience, adaptability, and a commitment to learning.

Resilience has allowed me to keep moving forward even when challenges seemed overwhelming — from balancing family life with business responsibilities to navigating the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. Without resilience, it would have been easy to give up when things got tough.

Adaptability has been crucial because wearing many hats — virtual assistant, bookkeeper, travel agent, insurance agent, CEO, tax preparer, credit repair specialist, and more — requires the ability to pivot, learn new skills quickly, and meet clients where they are. The business world changes fast, and being able to adjust without losing momentum has made all the difference.

A commitment to learning has fueled growth in every area of my life. Whether it’s mastering new software, understanding complex financial systems, or deepening my knowledge of credit and wealth-building strategies, continually learning has been essential for delivering value to my clients and growing my businesses.

For those early in their journey, my advice is:

Build resilience by embracing challenges as opportunities to grow rather than setbacks. Celebrate small wins along the way — they add up.

Practice adaptability by staying open to change and being willing to step outside your comfort zone. The ability to pivot quickly is one of the most valuable skills you can develop.

Never stop learning — invest time in educating yourself, whether through courses, mentors, or reading. Knowledge compounds over time and equips you to handle bigger opportunities and challenges.

Ultimately, the combination of these three areas has allowed me to create a life and business I’m proud of — and anyone can develop them with intentional practice, patience, and persistence.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
