Lauren & Christin, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
We chase what charges us. We pay attention to how we feel when we exit a space or an interaction. By noticing what energizes us vs what depletes us- it serves as a compass.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
MAFF is a video platform in service to artists worldwide. Both emerging and established, MAFF shines light on global creativity. We empower the people moving the Music, Art, and Fashion Industries forward by making it as accessible as possible to explore and appreciate their content.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Curiosity, Integrity & Acceptance.
Show up, explore, ask questions, do what you say you’ll do, and have fun. Things will not always go as planned and when they don’t – keep going. Remind yourself you are doing the best you can. If you lead with love and not fear, you will never really go wrong.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
Cry it out if you feel it within you. And if you can’t cry- go for a walk. And if you can’t walk- try taking a shower or put on some music or make a warm beverage. The trick is – do whatever it takes to get out of your head. Easier said than done but try to focus on simple actions during times of chaos. Recognize that it’s just the thoughts speaking. It’s not you. It’s the thoughts and like everything in life, they will pass.
