Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lauren Valenti. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lauren, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
Keeping creativity alive as a Social Media Manager is very important. It is so easy to get lost on your phone and not take a moment to really look around and spark creativity.
Whenever I find myself facing writer’s block, I turn to music. Sometimes I just need a few moments on my lunch break to sing one of my favorite songs to bring me back to reality and connect with my inner creativity. Singing has always been a lifelong passion for me—I’ve performed in numerous musicals from elementary school through high-school and was lucky to land a lot of fun lead roles! I also minored in Musical Theatre at Hofstra University, where I was a part of an acapella group Makin’ Treble (For any of my fellow Office fans, if you are picturing Andy Bernard, you are not too far off!) To this day, I still love to sing when I get the opportunity. Whether it’s at home, at karaoke or joining my brother, Daniel, on stage at a local gig- it’s really a great outlet. Music will always remain my go-to when I need to recharge!
I also have a deep love for travel. Exploring new cultures and experiencing the world is always the ultimate source of inspiration. Two of my favorite trips were to South Africa and Italy. I feel incredibly fortunate to have had those experiences!
Of course, sometimes the best inspiration comes from the “little things” as well. Going on a walk with my husband Frankie or spending time with my adorable cocker spaniel mix, Olive is truly the best.
Whether it’s a big adventure or a quiet moment at home with my family, I find creativity in many different outlets.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m a Social Media Manager for Sheer Science, a company with an incredible portfolio of unique, inspiring brands. I started with Sheer Science in 2019, fresh out of college, as a receptionist. What immediately stood out to me was how approachable and inclusive the company culture was—I even had the chance to meet with the CEO during the interview process. From day one, it was clear that no role was too small, and every team member was valued as an important part of the company’s success!
Currently, we’ve launched an incredible product: Dekliderm Neck Firming Cream. (Check us out on Instagram @Dekliderm!) I’ve witnessed firsthand the amazing transformations it delivers and the confidence it inspires in our users. It’s truly rewarding to see genuine feedback from creators and influencers who are excited about the product—not just because of compensation, but because they genuinely love using it. Special thank you to one of our very own influencers, Jennifer Somkovic, for recommending me to Bold Journey! It’s influencers like her who make my job so rewarding.
Another standout brand is Plexaderm Skincare, featuring the iconic Rapid Reduction Serum. This serum visibly reduces the look of under-eye bags and wrinkles in minutes. Whether you’ve seen the amazing transformations on social media (@plexaderm), TV, or ads, it’s truly hard not to be amazed. Hearing stories from customers about how the serum has changed their lives and boosted their confidence is one of the most fulfilling parts of my job.
Working for brands that truly live up to their promises and deliver real results for real people is a privilege. A huge shoutout to my manager, Steve Wolf, for being an incredible mentor. I’m so grateful to grow and learn under his leadership.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
As a Social Media Manager, three qualities have been most impactful in shaping my success:
1. Growing Relationships with Influencers
It’s all about connection—building authentic, long-lasting relationships with creators who genuinely believe in and understand your brand. These partnerships are the foundation for impactful, relatable content that resonates with audiences.
2. Staying on Trend
From exploring new apps to leveraging trending audio or pop-culture moments, staying connected with what’s current is essential. Social media is dynamic, and understanding trends helps keep your brand relevant and your audience engaged.
3. Never Settling
If something isn’t working, don’t hesitate to pivot! The beauty of social media is its ever-changing nature, offering endless opportunities to adjust strategies. My best advice? Stay adaptable, experiment, and keep evolving until you get it right.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
If you’re an influencer or user-generated content creator interested in collaborating with a company that truly believes in its products and partnerships, we’d love to hear from you!
We’re especially looking for dermatologists and experts in the skincare field.
