Meet Lauren Woodman

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lauren Woodman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lauren below.

Lauren, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?

I’ll preach this until the day I die: it is crucial to decompress and take time for yourself. There are so many parts of life (jobs, relationships, environments, energies, etc.) that will suck the life out of you. Especially being in my 20s, I’ve found myself in so many times where I have been pouring myself into everything or everyone around me and not stopping to take care of myself. Some people may call this selfless, and it can be, but part of being truly selfless is taking care of yourself so that you can give a better version of yourself to the world, too. It’s taken a lot of time and reflecting for me to understand how I can change the way I give and take from the world. Some of my favorite ways to practice self-care are: reading, playing with my dogs, spending time outside, or even allowing myself to rot on the couch for a little bit, guilt-free. Self-care looks different for everyone, but I think one of the most important things that everyone can benefit from is taking some of the pressure off of themselves. There’s a fine line between holding yourself accountable to reach your goals, and pushing yourself too hard. The latter can end up being completely counter productive. Never be afraid to take a mental health day, take a walk during lunch, or leave that party early to go watch a movie at home.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I founded Annabel Creative Company in the summer of 2023. We partner with businesses to brainstorm and get more creative when it comes to elevating your brand. How can you stand out in the industry, or be a bigger part of your community? Our job is to strategize new, refreshing ideas and bring them to life. Over the past year, we have transformed social media, web design, content creation/curation, public relations and advertising for small and large businesses nation-wide. I love that our services and network continues to expand, and that I’m able to run a business that gives me unlimited creative outlets and opportunities. I am so excited to see where Annabel Creative Company continues to make an impact for our clients.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

As Annabel Creative Company has reached its one-year anniversary, I would still consider myself early in my journey! Reflecting on the past year, though, I have to give credit to belief, determination, and confidence. If I didn’t believe in myself, I would have never walked away from my high-paying sales job of three years to go out on my own. Without determination, I wouldn’t have been able to supplement my income in the first three months in order to keep paying my bills and saving. If I didn’t have confidence, I wouldn’t have kept going even in the most stressful times where I wasn’t sure if my business was the right choice. Can we add a fourth? PATIENCE is key. Give yourself a chance, it’s the least you can do for yourself!

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Absolutely!! I love growing my network in any way that I can. I love getting to know creatives who are in the social media, branding, and marketing industry!
