We were lucky to catch up with Lawrence Chappe recently and have shared our conversation below.
Lawrence , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I’ll start by saying I’ve always been naturally positive (generally speaking). I think confidence and self esteem come from positivity — and positivity probably comes from excitement, passion and love. When we don’t feel confident or worthy, it’s probably because we don’t feel positive or valuable. But Logically speaking, everyone and everything has value, otherwise it wouldn’t exits.
Sometimes we get kicked around, or kick ourselves and might feel less than 100%. But I take cover under the umbrella that I am worthy and valuable (or else I wouldn’t exist), even though I may not fee like it at the moment.
As a reasonable adult I’ve leaned to ask myself a question – how does this (any situation) serve me in a positive way? If it does, the BOOM! Positivity = value and confidence; If the situation doesn’t serve me positively, then I should probably let it go. Or at least ask other questions to figure out why I’m holding onto it.
Does that even answer the question or did it make more questions?
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Hello, my name is Lawrence Chappe, and I am a visual artist and graphic designer with over a decade of experience in marketing. I am based out of Lighthouse Point.
I create works that blend various mediums and styles. Aesthetics are the heart of my work. I believe reality is created by what we observe. So I produce happy, bright, and positive imagery. As opposed to the trendy, beiges and grays. My art is an exploration of emotions with the goal of raising my vibration as well as viewer. What excites me most about my work is the opportunity to connect with people on a profound level, sparking conversations and encouraging new ways of thinking.
The fusion of my marketing background with my artistic endeavors allows me to approach art from a unique angle. I believe that as “the artist” I must lead the business’ vision, and should be involved in different aspects of the industry, not just “shut up and create art”.
I’m thrilled to announce that I’m currently preparing for an exclusive art show on July 13th, which promises to be a spectacular event. This show will not only feature my latest collection but will also serve as a platform for community engagement and cultural enrichment.
Professionally, my focus is on expanding the reach of my art and creating experiences that resonate with a broader audience. Like I said before, focus creates reality, so I prioritize gratitude and seek positive outcomes in every situation. This philosophy not only shapes my art but also guides my interactions and collaborations.
I’m actively seeking partnerships with businesses and organizations to host more shows and community events. By working together, we can create cultural experiences that benefit everyone involved. Additionally, I’m exploring new mediums and techniques to further push the boundaries of my creative expression.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Learn about yourself, then follow your excitement. When things become challenging love and excitement is the highest vibration together you through a moment.
When you follow your excitement your skills will develop, you will consume content in the areas of knowledge that excite you – this will make you proficient and once you’re very proficient you will learn to break and bend the rules, create and innovate.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes, I’d like to collaborate with businesses in South Florida, preferably around lighthouse Point. I’d like to connect with people who see value in marketing, people who like to do new things, who see value in content, have a broad vision and are open to out of the box ideas.
