Meet Leah And Matt Pecoraro And Eddy

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Leah And Matt Pecoraro And Eddy. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Leah and Matt below.

Leah and Matt, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.

We have always been super creative people so we’re used to always working on something, though it’s usually a more seperate endeavor as our creative disciplines are different. Matt has been making music and recording for years, along with filmography and editing. I have been involved in creating fine art, building theater and film sets, and costuming.

A couple years ago we decided to combine our efforts with a shared love, reviewing B movies. Matt and I have been together for almost 20 years and one thing we have always loved doing together is watching B/”bad” movies. We came up with the concept for Portal B and have been making monthly episodes ever since. Because we hold ourselves accountable with Portal B we are constantly pushing ourselves to come up with new ideas and concepts. We get to do everything that goes into a production which includes; making music, making sets and props, puppet building, writing scripts, lighting, editing, makeup, the list goes on! We have a lot of fun and I think think that’s important for keeping creativity alive.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Matt and Leah are artists who have combined their creative passions to create a humorous YouTube show in which they discuss B movies, cult movies, obscure and “bad” movies. They create sets, props, original music, puppets and wild props to bring their reviews to life. They are always working on new concepts and ideas to try out on their channel.
They stand out by brining a high production value to their viewers. They don’t take themselves too seriously and their comedic, sometimes off color banter makes them edndearing to their followers.

They currently produce at least two shows a month. Matt creates short format horror review episodes called “Two Dollar Horror”. Matt and Leah collaboratively work together to produce their long format Portal B episodes which are posted the 15th of every month.

They are currently starting to write a horror screenplay together and have various show concepts they are flushing out.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Matt and I have worked for years on our respective crafts, sometimes time is the key to growth.

There is a lot of rejection in the arts, you have to be able to just keep going and growing even when people don’t get what you’re doing and you encounter rejection, a lot of rejection, but you have to just believe in your vision and keep going. Eventually you’ll build momentum and not even care or pay attention to the haters.

Two is, experiment. Try new creative things that you are curious about. Just know you most likely won’t be perfect the first time you try something. Sometimes the creative road is a slog, but it is so worth it. Honing your craft is one of the most satisfying things I can think of.

And third is just do it! Don’t over think the creative process or wait around for the perfect conditions, those things don’t exist. Let your passion flow and you’ll be amazed when you can end up doing!

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

We love collaborating, whether it be on the show with other B movie enthusiats as guests or in our own creative fields.

Matt is always looking for editing, voice over work, and music collabs. I am always looking for film work by means of special effects, puppets, props, sets design and costuming.
