We recently connected with Leah Pegram and have shared our conversation below.
Leah, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
In an instant—everything changed.
It was in the mountains of Virginia, at a women’s retreat. I found myself sitting in my first women’s circle. Wounded by relationships with women in the past and having wounded many relationships with women myself…I truly didn’t think authentic sisterhood was possible. But there I was, in circle, experiencing it. Feeling it. Loving it. Truly being held, seen, heard, and supported.
It was beautiful.
It was real.
It was true.
It felt like an ancient knowing. It felt as if my soul had been circling for lifetimes. An instant remembering.
I realized then that this wasn’t an option, it was a calling. An unshakable feeling down to the very last cell in my body that I had to share the medicine of sisterhood, of circling, with as many women as possible. I had no idea, in that moment, that my life would change forever. I just knew that I had found what I’d been seeking and I wanted to scream it from the mountaintops so other women knew they could find it, too.
Fast-forward to now…
I have the honor and privilege of facilitating circles and ceremonies for sisters from all over the country. I’m serving as a bridge to bring forth the medicine/gifts other women have to share by creating spaces for connection. Thousands of women are cultivating sacred sisterhood from all o ver the world inside my online community. I’m mentoring other women on how to lead their own circles and spread this ripple of healing farther and farther. It’s a wild and beautiful thing.
I am forever grateful to be walking this path. I am truly LIVING my mission to reawaken sisterhood and to guide women into remembering their own divine power, beauty and magic. And through this sacred work, I’m on an ongoing journey of deepening into my own remembrance as well.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As the owner/founder of Her Sacred Circle, LCC, I ultimately serve as a guide to remembrance. I create spaces for connecftion with that deep knowning that dwells within…that knowing that we are enough, we are loved and we are connected. I invite people more deeply into presence, wholeness and love through individual and community experiences.
I facilitate a variety of circles, ceremonies and retreats. Living on the coast of SC and working with the element of water as a deep calling, my favorite events are the monthly sister circles on the beach, the monthly full moon yoga gatherings and the surfing sisterhood experiences I coordinate during the warmer months. It is an incredible honor to create spaces for connection in sisterhood, connection with the heart and connection with Mother Earth.
One of my favorite parts of this work is being able to create a ripple of healing on the planet through “Return to Circle”, my circle facilitator certification program. This is a virtual, self-paced program (paired with live coaching Zooms with me) that guides women into facilitating circles of their own. It’s so beautiful to guide others on this fulfilling path!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
It’s been so interesting to look back and see the “breadcrumbs” that led me to this sacred work. I would say that my extensive event experience – I’ve been an event coordinator for 17+ years – has definitely served me well coordinating the logistics of the wellness circles, ceremonies, retreats and programs I facilitate now. But even more important those skill sets has been showing up authentically and sharing with my heart. When you show up truly as who you are, you magnetize those who feel resonant with that truth.
How would you describe your ideal client?
Circles are for anyone who seek a place to be heard, seen and supported in nonjudgement. Circles are places for you to return home to your deepest truths and in community, to help show others how to do the same. It’s a place to remember we are all in this together. As women we thrive in a nurturing, connective environment and a circle is just that. However, I feel like every human on the planet can benefit from the healing circle offers.
