Meet Leann Hall

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Leann Hall a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

LeAnn , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

I developed my confidence and self-esteem at a young age. I was always popular in grade school, and was accustomed to be praised for my talents as a ballerina and trained dancer from my youth. From those experiences I’ve learned to live life with extreme humility. As a dancer and model, being in the entertainment industry you are always in competition for a job, a role, an opportunity, everything. You have to train your mind to understand that there is only one you, who can only do what you can do. I have been blessed to be able to use my physical features in my career but have high self esteem knowing that God blessed me to be me, with a purpose, which fuels my day to day confidence.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I started my career as a child, a trained dancer specializing in ballet. Dance was all I knew and was my passion for my whole life. After my mother passed I started modeling and acting at 14 years old. My career in the entertainment industry took off in an exponential way. Networking and learning the business side of the entertainment industry was very important to me so I could always represent myself and my brand the right way. As years went on and I reached many accolades in my career, my main focus became wanting to give back to my community with my skills and talents. Not only am I great at the talents and skills I possess but I strive to encourage others to also be their best selves, no matter the trials, tribulations of life, or the haters and potential competition. I take pride in my brand and in the most recent years have been blessed to partner with other like minded individuals who encourage and inspire me. I am now launching my entertainment consulting firm, while working to provide high quality professional and positive relationships, domestic and internationally. My parents are deceased but provided me with skills, knowledge, love & opportunities that have helped me succeed in life, even while they watch over me. As I grow in business, my goal is to be able to start a non profit that provides for the community while incorporating my knowledge of the entertainment industry.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

During my journey I’ve learned that your mind is a powerful tool to be in control of. The skills that were most impactful to my journey, even now, are being teachable, having boundaries, and being a team player.
Remaining a student of your craft is key to being successful. If you are always willing to learn from your mistakes, others mistakes, wins, losses etc., it keeps you focused and allows for consistent growth. Stay a student, there is always something to learn! Having boundaries is the key to building a brand or business structure that represents you in the way you want to be represented. When you have boundaries, you can say NO to things that don’t benefit or represent the journey you are on. Lastly, being a team player is extremely important. You are great by yourself but even greater with a team. Allow yourself to be useful to a team as well as open to building a team that is useful for yourself. I’ve gotten far in my journey but I’ve made bigger strides succeeding with a team.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?

The particular challenge I am currently facing is rebranding. I’ve been in the entertainment industry long enough where I’ve witnessed a lot of changes, within the industry and myself. As you grow a brand or grow as an entrepreneur it’s important to rebrand every couple years or months. Rebranding allows you to make sure you are still representing your morals, ethics, values and entertaining the correct audience. My audience has changed as I’ve grown from the talent into the entrepreneurial role. I have also started doing business internationally, as my network and resources have grown so I need to adjust a couple things to make sure I am moving in the right direction. Rebranding is challenging for me right now because it forces me to reevaluate who I am, what my business is, and how I want to achieve future goals while still using what I’ve learned in the past.
