Meet Leann Herron

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Leann Herron. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Leann below.

Hi Leann, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

In 2019 I was working as a Legal Assistant for a prominent law firm, recently married (after a divorce from a 20-year marriage), then in early 2020 Covid exploded. The world was spinning in complete uncertainty, but our firm required our entire staff to continue to work in office…like nothing was going on. In 2020 our office received an influx of new cases, which caused me to experience PTSD so severe I was forced to resign my position (brain fog, memory loss, anxiety, panic, and overwhelm). I spent the next 9 months embarking on a courageous path of self-exploration and profound personal development. Finding conventional medicine insufficient, I uncovered the transformative power of mindset shifts, self-care practices, and intentional living, which greatly enhanced my overall well-being. I needed to focus on both my physical and mental health. At 49, I decided to leave my career in legal and start over. I returned to school, obtained certifications as a life coach and health coach, and became an entrepreneur.

I learned how to heal. I developed a daily meditation practice, including breath and bodywork. I learned new skills and tools to help me get out of overwhelm, anxiety, and panic. I utilized the services of amazing alternative healthcare providers to help me let go and heal from trauma. My mission is to share my story, and the skills and tools I developed and utilize to maintain and enhance my overall well-being.

I opened my coaching practice in 2022, Finding Resilience with Leann, after completing over 200 hours of coursework and peer coaching through the Health Coach Institute (HCI) and years of supporting my friends and family through life’s ups and downs. I specialize in helping people with stress management, time management, and career development. I’ve had the pleasure of helping many people overcome overwhelm, move through hurdles, go after their dreams, and grant themselves the much-needed permission for self-care. This is my purpose.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m a 50+-year-old professional woman who reinvented herself during the pandemic. At 49, I decided to leave my career in legal and start over.

I empower individuals overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, and disconnection. My mission is to guide those ready to take ownership of their well-being, develop self-awareness, establish healthy habits, and build resilience, fostering a profound sense of purpose and balance in their lives.

I work with people who are ready to transform their trials into triumphs so they can face adversity with grit and grace. Utilizing a holistic approach that addresses the mind, body, and spirit, I draw upon my experiences, knowledge, and specialized education to support their journey. My mission is to enhance daily lives and health through motivation, inspiration, implementation, and education.

I recently created and launched the Mindfulness and Meditation Practices 4-Week Starter Course to share the valuable skills and tools that I needed and mastered during extreme trauma response.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The 3 skills/tools/areas of knowledge that have empowered me to change my life and path are mindfulness, meditation, and lifetime learning.

My Advice: Just start, you are stronger and more resilient than you know. It all starts with the most basic skill we all have, breathing. All you need to do to start is just breathe. Be present, and be in the now. You can’t change yesterday and tomorrow isn’t here yet.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

I’m going to pick the two people who were vital in helping me overcome challenges, supported me, and taught me essential skills to keep with me always in my toolbox.

#1 is my amazing husband. He supports me in every way.

#2 My dear friend Tessa Small, she is a certified herbalist and hypnotherapist. Tessa saw me and worked with me to get out of overwhelm, she taught me essential skills and knowledge about herbalism to get my body out of stress response and has become an amazing referral partner for my clients, friends, and family.
