Meet Leanna Payne

We were lucky to catch up with Leanna Payne recently and have shared our conversation below.

Leanna, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

I developed my confidence, and self- esteem through the things, and people I love. My confidence is why I am so passionate about what I do today. The confidence that people have had in me before I had it in myself made a big impact.

Here is a guide of 3 steps I took to gain confidence in myself, and my work:

1: Understand that this is your life that you are living, and nobody’s life is exactly like yours – Take accountability and understand your upbringing, and tradition.

2: Write down a list of 5-10 things your life has blessed you with, and put it somewhere that is visible that you will see daily. Ex. the ability to understand you need confidence or self-esteem, the fact that you have resources to learn about confidence, or even as simple as you are blessed you woke up this morning, and have the mobility you do.

3: Have confidence and self-esteem in knowing what you bring to the table, and that you are unique – Your experiences, and kindness is what makes you who you are.

Do not ever forget the list of 5-10 things you wrote. Whenever you’re struggling, read that list. Remind yourself of who you are on the inside.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am a Luxury Makeup Artist. I am invested in making women feel like the absolute best version of themselves. The thing about my work that is so exciting, is that when people book me; they become a small part of a community that they will have for life! I am so excited to be a part of this journey!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the connections that I had made within my community has helped me grow the confidence and skill in business!

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?

If I knew I only had 10 years of my life left, I would have a hard time deciding what to do; but I do know one thing.

Growing up, my family has always said, “don’t pay it back, pay it forward.”

I would spend most of my time getting in contact with people, and thanking them for what they’ve done for me, helping me, and advising me.
