Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Leidy with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
As a photographer, it’s essential to have a strong work ethic to stay motivated and excel in your craft. My work ethic is deeply rooted in my passion for photography as an art form. The joy and fulfillment I experience when capturing moments, emotions, and stories through my lens.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As a newborn and maternity photographer, I specialize in capturing the precious moments and emotions surrounding the arrival of a new life. My work revolves around creating beautiful and meaningful images that celebrate the joy and beauty of pregnancy and the tender moments of a newborn’s early days. My photographs have the power to bring happiness and smiles to the faces of those who view them. Sharing my art with the world and knowing that it brings joy to others can be a truly gratifying and special aspect of your work.

One of the key focuses of my work is to capture the genuine emotions and connections between family members during these special moments. My goal is to create timeless and heartfelt images that reflect the love, joy, and anticipation experienced during pregnancy and the early days of parenthood.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The most impactful skills or qualities for me are the following Continuous Learning and Adaptability, embrace a growth mindset and be open to new information, techniques, and technologies. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to improve your skills.
Creativity and Artistic Vision, practice regularly, experiment with different styles, and explore various ideas of photography to refine your creative eye.
Business and Marketing, invest time in learning about business and marketing strategies, especially those specific to the photography industry. Build a strong online presence, create a professional website, and utilize social media to showcase your work and attract clients.

My advice for those starting is to practice, be persistent, and don’t compare your work to others. Embrace your passion, stay dedicated to improving your craft, and always keep the joy of photography at the center of your journey.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed I like to engage in activities that promote relaxation like spending time in nature and going for a walk with my babies to disconnect.

Some strategies that help me are managing my time, prioritizing tasks, and learning to say no sometimes to give myself the break I need.
