Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Leilani Garcia. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Leilani, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
Such a good question. My whole life I have persevered and only in the last three years after a difficult divorce did I ask myself that question. What feeds my resilience? What’s the driving force behind my lust for truth, self-love, self-discovery and empowerment?
I have always been a go-getter with a passion for life. I’ve experienced several haters and obstacles, and I kept moving on with curiosity and passion. It wasn’t until a painful divorce while raising children that I found myself so heart broken and lost without knowing how I was going to move forward that I questioned my resilience. I saw myself powerless, destroyed, and defeated. One day I looked at myself in the mirror and didn’t recognize who that was. I WAS a resilient go-getter full of passion, confidence and drive. Who was this person I became? I had given away all my power. It dawned on me, that the man I trusted and whom with that trust I had made huge life changing choices, I had voluntarily given away all my power to him. I had allowed this person to control my emotions, feelings. perceptions and ultimately had given him the power to make all my choices. This was a very fearful time in my life. I stood there in disbelief and with immense curiosity as to how I let this happen. I was determined to reclaim my power and take ownership of myself.
There was an inner knowing, a push, to go and find stillness, to breathe, to understand my feelings. I spent every morning, before the household would wake up, outside in nature sitting in stillness, seeking some sort of connection, yearning to understand what I was feeling and what was making me feel that way. It was fear, fear of the unknown. In this stillness however, I found peace and love. I don’t know how to describe it, but there was joy in just being still and connecting to nature, observing nature – the resilience, the strength, the cycles. Nature is powerful and so resilient. Nature mirrors us. As I sat in stillness, I felt guided to take accountability, release the perception of victimhood, and seek self-help books to healing. I walked into a metaphysical store in town, I have no idea why, I was just guided there. I had never been to any metaphysical stores before. They had one book in their shop, Corin Grillo’s “The Angel Experiment, A 21 day magical adventure to heal your life.” I started the book and the suggested experiment and it was mind blowing. I developed an incredible deep magical relationship with myself and the divine energies that support us on this life journey – they are in nature, within us, around us, in the ethers, everywhere. Now, I understood that the push I have always felt in my life was the inner knowing that I am loved, I am worthy and I am supported. I have always known this deep inside and so I lived my life with curiosity and passion. Life experiences started to break that down and it became blurry. I was raised by a narcissist mother who was abused growing up and therefore abusive. Then I married a narcissist military spy who I fled from in fear of being killed, and then married another narcissist man who I trusted would not harm me only to be crushed by his confession of never really loving me but liked the idea of me and marriage.
I took my time to heal, to learn about healing – deep healing from the root cause and the many powerful modalities to healing. In this time, I was able to understand that what happened to me really happened for me. Without those experiences, I would not be where I am today with an incredible awakening to truth, authenticity and profound love. I live with a sense of freedom. I can find joy in life’s simple pleasures such as a chipmunk hiding acorns; feeling the sea breeze caress my skin; watching seagulls soar up with a tasty treasure and releasing it so it breaks open on the rocks below and they can indulge in their salty fresh snack. When a challenging situation presents itself. I now have a mind-shift and I see it with a curiosity to alchemize the situation to something that will teach me and help me propel myself forward in my journey. When I am being attacked by a narcissist, it doesn’t phase me, I know how to set my boundaries and see the situation with compassion and exert my power. I have been studying endlessly about energies around us, physics, metaphysical sciences, holistic philosophies and modalities. I became an intuitive spiritual hypnotist to teach and lead others into healing themselves. I facilitate profound healing for others using my psychic and mediumship abilities, channeling universal energy for healing and releasing and empowerment tools. I use the power of nature in essential oils for elevating the healing experience. I now own my power, have greater compassion and practice forgiveness and gratitude. I fuel my life force with whole foods, movement, stillness, restorative sleep and daily playfulness. I successfully own two businesses, volunteer at an animal sanctuary and give back to my community by donating my time and talents when the opportunity presents itself. Simplifying everything I do by connecting to nature in these ways feeds my resilience. There is joy, flow, purpose, connection and harmony in my life.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico and fluent in both the English and Spanish language. I studied at the University of Florida, where I was President of a health club and I was the liaison between the Student Health Care Center medical staff and the 35,000 students. I created and managed events for the student health care center on campus and managed health education programs in dorms. I was awarded the UF President’s Outstanding Student Award for my leadership and contribution to the university. I received a degree in Hospitality and Human Performance with a focus on special event management. Thirty years later, I am still passionate about health and recently received a certificate in Essentials of Global Health from Yale University. I spent 20 years in event and hospitality management having the opportunity to work in Strategic Global Event management for The Coca-Cola Company and also managing private jets for a Presidential campaign working along side former Presidents, celebrities and global leaders. I have had amazing global experiences meeting such interesting people and exploring destinations around the world. I have to say, I love adventure and never questioned myself. I boldly went and pursued opportunities and although I had experienced some failures, I did not give up. This ultimately led to many successful opportunities with personal and career growth.
After being twice divorced, I developed a stressed related auto-immune disease, which propelled me to learn more about the mind-body connection and how the universe can support us in our healing. The more I learned about universal consciousness and the power of the mind, the more I was able to walk boldly in my journey.
I now have two businesses, an event management business, Events by Leilani, managing corporate and entertainment events and The Artful Alchemist, specializing in intuitive soul level healing hypnosis, Tapping into the brain’s neuroplasticity to create new neur0pathways to productivity and healthy patterns is my main focus. I do this for my events putting together a hypnosis style positive mind set meditation for the staff prior to the event and also for the attendees to start their day. It’s a game changer. I love it when the stakeholders come up and wonder what was different this year in reference to the positivity in the group.
I am all about fun, being playful, being honest and setting intentions. I have to confess, most often, the intention I set is…to have fun!”. I don’t take things too seriously, I am curious and I encourage my clients and friends to be curious and stay curious. This allows us to let go of judgement, the should haves, could haves and such. Let go of rigid outcomes and expectations and open your mind to unlimited possibilities. Sometimes we are so focused on one outcome that an amazing opportunity is right in front of us and we don’t even see it.
I enjoy giving back to community and all the teachers who have inspired me whenever I can. I have mentored several students in both psychic mediumship and healing modalities, including those interested in hypnosis. I lead a Spiritual & Single mingle healing circle for a spiritual online community with aWake Church founded by Corin Grillo. I also volunteer at an animal sanctuary and vegan education center known as Lewis Oliver Farm, in Northport, NY, where I engage in barn duties and I perform Reiki on the animals to help them through their ailments.
My most recent program is the POWER Mind & Body, a 12 week weight management & wellness program with an innovative approach to shedding unwanted weight and helping you develop sustainable healthy habits, targeting the root cause to weight gain. This program incorporates powerful hypnosis techniques, Zoom support sessions, group energy healing, and oracle card (psychic) guidance. Many people choose surgery, injections or pills to support their weight loss goals, but have not addressed the root cause of their weight management challenges. This can lead to some health issues, poor mental state and dissatisfaction in their daily personal and social lives despite their weight loss. The foregoing options can help some people, but it is still necessary for long-term wellness to address the root cause and create new thought patterns and habits. I felt a strong passion to create a sustainable, fun, approachable program that will finally help people change their habits, enjoy eating and gain power and control of their choices. This is a fun approach that reprograms the subconscious mind’s old patterns and behaviors by creating new neuropathways to finally move forward with healthy sustainable life changing habits. Not only are you able to manage your weight with ease, but you also heal your energetic and physical body. The power of our minds is incredible. It’s no wonder Thomas Edison, Nikola Tesla and Albert Einstein all practiced hypnosis to over come their self-imposed limitations! The POWER Mind & Body program is offered as a group and individual program. Our potential is limitless, lets unleash the extraordinary within!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Grounding/Meditation: Connecting spiritually, taking the time to be still, to feel what your body is experiencing without judgement and just feel into your body and connect with it. To go further into this connection, visualize roots growing from the soles of your feet and the base of your spine as they extend into the layers of the earth and you anchor and root yourself into the ground. Then through deep slow breathing, you can allow yourself to release tension as you exhale slowly and fully. Then bring in clean life force energy back into the body with a slow full belly inhale. Then feel the energy of the Earth pulsating up your roots and into your body, to allow the healing, nourishing energy to cleanse and recharge your body. If I don’t take the time to feel and ground, I will end up carrying the heavy energy I picked up from others. This helps me show up more clear and authentically during the day.
2. Curiosity: I find when I am curious, I listen more and let go of judgement. I am open to possibilities, knowledge, insights, and aha moments. In order to grow and expand, I found it valuable to be curious, ask questions and not assume I know the reasons or story behind something or someone. For myself, when I feel tension in my body, I stop and become curious, where is it coming from? Is it mine? Am I stressed or worried for someone else? I don’t need the weight of the world on my shoulders. I become curious and then release. I am okay with asking questions even though some might think I should know the answer or meaning to something. I don’t pretend to just “save face”. I am curious and I ask questions. People may not wish to share what their thoughts or experiences are, so I honor that and do not make assumptions. Curiosity helps with critical thinking and problem solving. Curiosity can lead to higher levels of positive emotions, lower anxiety, and greater psychological well-being. Curiosity helps improve communications by exploring for more clarity and information when making decisions.
3. Taking Accountability/Intention Setting: I have the day-to-day choice to decide how I want to show up in the world. I take time to set an intention for the day, how I want to feel, what I want to bring to the world around me, what I want to attract, and what I want to accomplish. It doesn’t have to be crazy complicated, if anything, I learned to keep it simple! Go back to the basics and keep it simple, but intentional. I also let others make their choices and set their intentions. I find it disempowering to take on other’s responsibilities and life lessons. I used to think I was helping people by being a people pleaser and taking on other’s responsibilities and decision making, because they “couldn’t”. I learned to empower others by letting go of control and allowing and empowering them to make their own choices and intentions. In this way, they do their own learning and have the opportunity to expand and grow.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
Corin Grillo’s “The Angel Experiment – a 21 Day Magical Adventure to Heal Your Life.” I didn’t believe in angels or anything like that. This was my awakening book to understanding that we are not alone on this journey and there are powerful divine energies there to guide, heal and encourage us. I did the 21 day experiment and I was blown away. I began experiencing miracles and having mind-blowing experiences. I never thought I’d ever connect to myself and the energies like I have today. When working with these energies, it is pure unconditional love and support. They also have a huge sense of humor. It has been life changing and I cannot imagine my life without experiencing this divine awakening. I am a graduate of the author’s Angel Alchemy Academy and have had the amazing opportunity to mentor her 2024 students. To be witness to and be a part of people’s awakening journey is an enormous gift. I am also a contributor and volunteer in her spiritual online community, aWake Church. Being able to connect in a psychic way to people and bring in guidance and healing from angels and deceased loved ones is fascinating and fulfilling. It’s Corin Grillo’s easy approach to connecting to the angels that is a game changer. She is so real and simple. The best way to connect to this amazing support system is by just talking to them like they are your friend. Don’t think it has to be all proper and perfect.
The more authentic your communication is, the stronger the relationship you will build with the angels. Letting go of old programming is essential. Trusting the messages you receive is critical. I invite you to try the 21 day angel experiment. It will change your life forever. I claimed my power and joy back. I am bold, confident, humble, and grateful.
