Meet Lekhitha Ammaresh, Bharathi Caldwell, Isha Kondapalli

We were lucky to catch up with Lekhitha Ammaresh, Bharathi Caldwell, Isha Kondapalli recently and have shared our conversation below.

Lekhitha Ammaresh, Bharathi Caldwell, Isha Kondapalli, so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.

In the entrepreneurial journey, criticism is inevitable. There will always be people who scrutinize every misstep and failure. At first, it was easy to get bogged down by this negativity. However, we’ve learned to view criticism as a sign that we’ve made a significant impact—it means we’re on the radar. We also recognize that sometimes there’s underlying truth in critiques, which can serve as valuable feedback for growth and improvement. Embracing this perspective allows us to stay focused on our vision while using constructive criticism to elevate our brand.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

We are Samsara, a Dallas-based brand that specializes in creating timeless South Asian wear with a modern flair. Our journey began when the three of us, each passionate about fashion and cultural representation, decided to merge our talents and resources to fill a gap in the market. What excites us most is our ability to blend traditional designs with contemporary styles, making our clothing both versatile and accessible. We believe in fostering a strong community, reflected in the relationships we build with our customers and supporters. We recently had out New York Fashion Week debut, an incredible experience that reaffirmed our commitment to innovation and creativity in this space. Looking ahead, we’re excited to announce new product launches and collaborative events that will further strengthen our brand’s presence and community ties.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Openness to Opportunity: Being willing to seize opportunities without getting lost in potential drawbacks has propelled us forward. Embrace the unknown and take calculated risks.

Collaborative Decision-Making: Our trio works well together, balancing decisions and sharing the workload. This teamwork has been crucial in navigating challenges and brainstorming creative solutions.

Industry Knowledge: Having a solid understanding of our field has been essential. We advise newcomers to immerse themselves in their industry, stay informed, and don’t shy away from making mistakes. Sometimes, the most expensive lessons lead to the greatest breakthroughs—think of it as taking one step back to leap two steps forward.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

The unwavering support from our parents has been the cornerstone of our journey. They instilled in us the confidence to persevere, especially during challenging times. Their belief in us has not only pushed us to strive for our goals but also provided comfort when we’ve felt uncertain. Their encouragement reminds us that we are never alone in this journey. A special shoutout to our moms who have shared their closets with us allowing us to play dress up in their sarees as kids & sparked our interest in this industry.
