Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Leo Solomon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Leo, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
Smelling the flowers, I think life is to be lived to the fullest and we should strive to be the kid version of ourselves…having big dreams. When we begin to accomplish things and have milestones, we should congratulate ourselves. We should take time to reflect, appreciate where you are in life, and live in awe for a moment.
When imposter syndrome strikes, I combat it by thinking back to how far I am from where I started in this journey and reviewing the work I have completed. I think about the amazing reviews from clients as self affirmation that “I got this”. For me this helps a lot, we often forget who we are artistically sometimes due to being focused more on the next project or being nervous about slower times in our businesses.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am the owner of CapturedByLeo LLC, a professional corporate event photographer serving metro Atlanta and beyond. I have photographed conferences, festivals, silent auction & gala, golf tournaments, and more. The unique blend of being present when necessary and going unnoticed at corporate events make my approach to corporate photography special. I make it my top priority to not be disruptive to the events I photograph but present enough to deliver high quality photographs.
The exciting upcoming addition to my services will be videography. I am currently gathering more videography work alongside my current photography opportunities to create a dedicated section on my website to showcase my videography work. I will be adding corporate interviews, corporate promotional videos, conference highlight videos, and more to my services soon. I look forward to future videography work. There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three qualities that were most impactful along my journey is hard work, persistence, and adaptability. I truly believe if you improve on these three qualities daily, you should begin to have success in your journey. The road is not an easy route and there will be a ton of “no” provided but knowing this early on, you should be able to push through those tough times. You just have to think “I just need one yes” every time this happens and you will be fine, just keep reaching out for potential clients. Along the way, you have to be flexible to the journey. There were so many paths I didn’t see coming and on-location for projects, there were unexpected things that happen. You must be comfortable with adapting with the unexpected leaning on your expertise to make the highest quality work possible for your clients.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am always looking to partner with anyone interested in partnering with me. For small businesses, I can help elevate the visual look of your brand with high quality photographs that are great for print or online use. I am also open to providing videography services as well. The ideal client for me will be nonprofits, professional associations, conference organizers, restaurant owners, and more.
