Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Leon Agee Iii. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Leon, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
People always ask how you find your purpose. It’s always a long story but I’m going to keep it short. I found my purpose the day my grandmother shared one of her favorite books with me. We talked about how good it was, and it started my journey. Not too long after my mom and I went to the movies. We watched horror movie, and it wasn’t the best. I told her I could do something better. She challenged me and desire to be an author cultivated. I started writing horror book which then extended to writing an anime and a tv show. My purpose opened a world that I never thought about tapping. One thing led to another, and my first book was finished before I knew it. I stayed determined on making my wishes come to and got lucky that the right people believed in me.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
By day I am an author just exercising my brain and allowing my dreams to come true. Right now, I am in the process of finishing my second book. It tells a story of how heartbreak looks from a man’s perspective. I also have a few other projects in the works. Every day I am working to be better than the man I was yesterday, because you aren’t granted time to go back and change things.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The top qualities in my journey I have to say is accountability, a humble attitude and determination. For anyone shooting for the stars all I’ll say is don’t give up. It isn’t the easiest thing to do. Allow yourself to be by yourself. Also, just because you don’t fit in with everyone doesn’t mean you’re meant for everybody. Plus, everyone isn’t going to see the vision you have for yourself and that’s okay.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
The book that has played the biggest role in my development would have to be “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho. It let me know the journey is the bigger than the destination. Once the journey has been completed, you can look back at all the work you’ve done and appreciate it so much more. In one part of the book, the main character does all these odd jobs believing he has sidetracked himself. In all actuality, it was allowing him to build the skills he needed to persevere and be patient
