Hi LeShundia, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

My optimism comes from my grandmother. Growing up, she was my role model, and I can still hear her voice saying, *“trouble doesn’t last always.”* Those words became a mantra for me. No matter what I faced, I knew challenges were temporary and that brighter days were ahead.

That truth was tested during one of the hardest seasons of my life. After finishing my master’s program, I left a domestic violence relationship. That decision left me homeless. For months, I lived in my car, stayed in extended stays, and moved from house to house just to have a place to sleep.

In that moment, I could have given in to despair. Instead, I leaned on my faith and my grandmother’s words. I journaled, recorded voice notes, and poured my prayers into the pages. Looking back later, I realized optimism is a choice. Even when everything else is stripped away, I still had the power to choose how I thought, believed, and moved forward.

That season built my resilience. It showed me that sometimes life pushes you into discomfort because it is time to shift directions. And if I could overcome homelessness, I knew I could overcome anything.

Today, optimism fuels my entrepreneurship. It gives me the courage to take risks because I understand setbacks are part of the process. The low points make the high points even greater. I stay grounded through prayer, journaling, manifestation, meditation, and vision boards. These practices keep me focused on my ultimate goal: becoming the first millionaire in my family, and then helping a thousand others reach that milestone too.

My optimism does not just guide me, it pours into others. When friends or clients say, “I can’t,” I remind them that they can. Success is a choice, and behind that choice is action. Nothing can stop you except yourself.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I am the founder of Social Gem LK, a digital marketing and creative brand built to empower busy professionals, entrepreneurs, and fellow creators to turn their ideas into income. My work lives at the intersection of strategy and creativity, from digital products and affiliate marketing to social media growth systems and branding.

What excites me most is that I have recently expanded into offering content creator packages. This service allows me to bring other entrepreneurs’ and creators’ visions to life through videography, photography, and content production. Many business owners know they need content to grow, but they do not always have the time or creative eye to capture it. That is where I step in. I create professional, high-quality visuals and storytelling that showcase their brand while giving them content they can repurpose across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and more.

What is special about Social Gem LK is that it is not just about content, it is about building systems, confidence, and visibility. I am passionate about showing people how to leverage their talents and stories to build passive income streams, whether through affiliate marketing, digital products, or social media monetization.

Looking ahead, I am focused on continuing to grow Social Gem LK into a hub for creators and professionals who want both the strategy and the creative assets to succeed. Whether it is helping someone map out their first digital product, building a brand identity, or producing content that elevates their online presence, I see my role as the digital plug that connects people to opportunities and results.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three qualities that have had the biggest impact on my journey are resilience, creativity, and continuous learning.
Resilience has carried me through every season of entrepreneurship. There have been moments when clients backed out or the numbers did not look the way I wanted. What kept me going was my ability to get back up, adjust, and keep moving. For anyone just starting out, I would say embrace setbacks as part of the process. Challenges are often redirection, not failure.
Creativity is at the heart of everything I do, whether building Social Gem LK, designing digital products, or producing content for entrepreneurs. It is not just about making things look good, it is about solving problems in new ways. To develop this skill, give yourself permission to explore and create without the pressure of perfection. Over time, this practice strengthens your creative muscle and sets you apart.
Continuous learning keeps me evolving. I am always studying new tools, platforms, and strategies in digital marketing and content creation. The online space moves fast, and staying stagnant is not an option. My advice is to become a student of your craft. Read, take courses, observe others, and most importantly, apply what you learn. Growth happens through both knowledge and execution.
Together, these three qualities have shaped how I show up in business and life. They remind me that no matter where you start, you can build something impactful if you are willing to stay strong, stay creative, and stay curious.
