Meet Leslie M. Bosserman

We recently connected with Leslie M. Bosserman and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Leslie! We appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
As a purpose-driven innovator, I am motivated by my desire to seek solutions to problems in my community and family. I view the world through the lens of possibility, knowing that if I’m stuck, there’s likely a perspective I haven’t discovered yet. It’s with this optimistic mindset that I began creating a construct for what I’ve named “Emotional Endurance” – the dynamic inner capacity you develop to keep going and rise above your circumstances as you deal with life’s stresses and challenges. As an applied Positive Psychologist and Executive Leadership Coach and Trainer, I’ve been speaking, writing, and teaching around how to develop and enhance your Emotional Endurance so you can keep going through the hard times as you learn from your life and overcome!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area in a diverse community of innovators. As a two-time UCLA alumna, I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Mass Communications (B.A.) and a Master’s of Education (M.Ed.). I am also trained as a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) through The Co-Active Training Institute, international leaders in Coach Training and Leadership Development.

After working for a decade in higher education and student development, I became an entrepreneur and launched Lead With Intention® – a boutique coaching and consulting practice that specializes in leadership coaching, customized training, and organizational strategy for clients around the world. I love supporting individuals and organizational teams and have collaborated with a range of creative professionals from entrepreneurs launching their startups to executive leaders at Fortune 500 Companies. I also currently teach on Business and Leadership at the University of California, Davis Continuing and Professional Education.

I am very committed to enhancing my local community and co-created and launched The Makers Place™ with my husband, Joel. As the regions first coworking space with onsite childcare, this innovative multi-use space supports parents who need a professional workspace along with flexible childcare options. I also currently work as the Director and Site Supervisor of Mini Makers™ Preschool.

I have also served locally on the leadership team for TEDxSacramento as the Event Coordinator and volunteered as a coach for emerging female leaders through The Women’s Impact Alliance (formerly The Coaching Fellowship). More recently, I was a featured speaker at TEDxEustis in February 2024! I’m currently writing a book on the science of Emotional Endurance to help others cultivate greater capacity to deal with stress and uncertainty so they can overcome and thrive!

As a dedicated life explorer, I love to travel to new places and has visited over 30 countries, including living abroad in the Middle East for a year where I volunteered at local schools in Amman, Jordan. I am an avid artist and creative who also enjoys karaoke, cooking ethnic food, supporting local coffee shops, and practicing yoga. As a novice pickleball player and an expert bargain shopper, I live in Northern California with my family and travel internationally for coaching, organizational trainings, and retreat facilitation.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Always be willing to learn from your life and pace your passion.

A wise mentor once told me “Leslie, you can have it ALL. You just can’t have it all at once.” Focus on what’s NOW for you so you can discover what’s NEXT for you. Don’t be in a rush to get there.

Allow your present experiences to shape you into the person you will become to take on the next opportunity, and the next, and the next. Allow life to surprise you!

How would you describe your ideal client?
Working with leaders across all levels, I love partnering with creative changemakers who are ready to step into something bigger and need support to see what’s possible. When clients feel stuck, unmotivated, or are craving more, they reach out to me as their champion! I coach clients around strengths awareness and development to help them feel more energized and engaged in their lives. I enjoy helping clients co-create a plan for how to get after their goals using their strengths to activate their values so they live in alignment with what matters most to them!
