Meet Leticia Zecca Ross

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Leticia Zecca Ross. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Leticia below.

Leticia, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I found my purpose during one of the most challenging seasons of my life—when the world paused during COVID and I was forced to pause with it. I’ve always been a natural-born attorney and a relentless seeker of justice, especially for marginalized communities. I began my career as a Public Defender, drawn to the front lines of advocacy and equity. But it wasn’t until the stillness of the pandemic that my deeper purpose truly came into focus.

During that time, I reconnected with my faith—deeply and personally. I rediscovered God and felt, for the first time, a profound closeness to my guardian angel. That spiritual awakening became my compass. In 2021, shortly after COVID, I experienced a brain injury that further deepened my inner journey. Forced to confront pain, uncertainty, and stillness, I turned inward and leaned fully on my spiritual life. I prayed and I surrendered.

It was in that space—between faith and healing—that my purpose became clear. My calling is not only to practice law, but to use it as a tool for access, healing, and transformation. I now see my work not just as legal advocacy, but as a sacred mission to serve others with compassion, conviction, and grace. My faith didn’t just sustain me—it revealed what I’m truly here to do.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m Leticia Zecca Ross, the founder and senior attorney at Zecca Ross Law Firm, where we serve startups, creatives, and small business owners across California and Arizona. My path to entrepreneurship and tech law began in a very different space—advocating for vulnerable communities as a public defender in Brazil for nearly 14 years. After immigrating to the U.S., I earned my LL.M. at Georgetown, passed the California Bar, and took a leap of faith by opening my own firm. I built it around a core belief: legal services should feel like a strategic asset, not a roadblock.

What excites me most about my work today is partnering with early-stage startup founders—especially those innovating in emerging industries like automotive technology, AI software, life sciences, and nonprofit leadership. I love being part of those formative moments when a founder takes their first real steps: forming their corporate structure, hiring their first team member, or protecting their IP. I offer services as an Outside Chief Legal Officer, helping startups build solid legal foundations through board participation, contract review, intellectual property protection, business strategy, and risk mitigation analysis. My role often blends legal advisory with executive-level insight—and I’m proud to walk alongside founders as they grow.

Beyond our general counsel services, Zecca Ross Law also provides M&A support for small businesses, corporate audits, company valuations, and strategic contract negotiation. We tailor everything we do to the real-world needs of the businesses we serve, with a focus on clarity, accessibility, and strategic growth.

We’ve recently expanded into Arizona and are now training and preparing to launch a legal AI assistant exclusively for our clients. This tool is designed to provide accessible, on-demand legal support tailored to the needs of growing businesses. My mission is to ensure that every founder—regardless of background—has access to high-quality legal support that empowers their vision and protects what they’re building. I truly believe that justice includes access to opportunity, and I’m honored to help bring that to life through my work.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been **resilience**, **curiosity**, and **clear communication**.

Resilience helped me navigate big transitions—like moving countries, learning a new legal system, and starting my own firm from scratch. My advice: expect challenges, but stay focused on your bigger purpose.

Curiosity kept me learning and evolving. I constantly seek to understand not just the law, but my clients’ industries and goals. For anyone starting out, never stop asking questions and exploring.

And clear communication has been key to building trust—especially when translating complex legal ideas into practical advice. Learn to listen well and speak simply. It makes all the difference.

How would you describe your ideal client?

My ideal client is a values-driven entrepreneur or small business owner who’s serious about building something sustainable and impactful. They often have early traction—maybe they’ve raised funds from family and friends, built a loyal customer base, or are generating consistent revenue—and now they need trusted outside counsel to guide them through growth, protect their brand, and handle more complex legal needs.

Many of my favorite clients are creative founders—people launching product-based businesses, startups, or consultancies—who value transparency, collaboration, and long-term vision. We work best with those who see legal support not just as a checkbox, but as a strategic partner in building a resilient business. If you care deeply about what you’re building and want a legal team that shares your values, we’re likely a great fit.
