Meet Levia Hartman

 

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Levia Hartman a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Levia, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

I develop my confidence and self-esteem when I realized that it was me against the world. I am only hurting myself if I constantly compare myself to others and I’ve learned to love myself. It’s important to recognize your quality and value and know that you’re enough.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am an author, Crown Up and a public speaker. There are many negative stigma associated with being a foster kid and an immigrant and I simply wanted to share my story of resilience and hope to break those stigmas. I am a USA citizen who work hard and love this country and I hope to inspire and encourage others to never give up on their American dream.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

That’s a great question! Many people had said I am resilience, have positive attitude on life and most importantly my faith were the most impactful in my journey.
My advice for others is dream big and make it a reality. Don’t let your circumstances define you because if you believe in your dream, you can achieve it.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I would love to collaborate with anyone looking for someone to speak at their events. I am looking to collaborate with schools, churches, women entrepreneurs and foster care agencies.
