We recently connected with Lexi and have shared our conversation below.
Lexi, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
to be honest I am not sure I have overcome imposter syndrome. A lot of social media is posting and sharing with people and you can get caught up in views and what others think a lot of the time making you feel like you don’t belong if you don’t get enough traction on social media. But I try to remember that I started posting because it is something I enjoy doing and that while there is pressure in the social media space there is also room to grow and that I am not trying to fit in. I am trying to stand out.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Lexi from @exploringwithlexi, I am 25 and a travel/lifestyle content creator. I grew up in Florida but now live in Colorado. I started my blog in 2021. I focused on foodie finds, must see and world travels! I want people to look at my page and see how I am just like them exploring the city and learning the ins and outs. How I am on the hunt for the best places in Denver and showing all the exciting places you can go in the world to enjoy life. I am constantly trying to find new spots in the city, so I always have exciting things to share. In addition, I am going to start highlighting my dating experiences as this is a new chapter in my life.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My advice for people looking to start a social media account is to just go for it! Don’t let the haters or the nerves stop you from doing something you want.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
In February 2021 I started an internship with a blogger named Findingfrancesca and she mentored me for two years This has helped me grow and learn so much about being a blogger. In addition, having my family support me has been a huge help. they have always been my number 1 fan!
