Meet Lexi Jeffers

We were lucky to catch up with Lexi Jeffers recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Lexi with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I get my work ethic from my mother, she has always been such an incredible hard worker and this provides with me with inspiration to work hard and go after my dreams.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am currently working as a cosmetologist at Lucero Hair and Wellness in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have been here in this studio for just over a month, but have been in the hair industry for about six years. I specialize in lived in blonde and bronde coloring, I chose this route because I have been loving naturally enhancing the already beautiful color on my clients.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three most important qualities, skills and areas of knowledge that have been most impactful for me have been interpersonal skills, self management, and communication. The best advice I can give would be to find a mentor and or shadow someone who is in the field you are interested in and gain as much as you can from them.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
A book that has played an important role in my development has been The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. This book will allow you to realize that every minute you spend worrying about the future or regretting the past is a minute lost, because really all you have is the present, and the now. It will also give you actionable strategies to start living in the moment more. This book has been a huge perspective switch, enabling me to now understand that life is a series of present moments.
