Meet Lexi Myers

We recently connected with Lexi Myers and have shared our conversation below.

Lexi, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?

Starting my instagram page @octoberallyear_ was a form of self care for me. I’ve always struggled with anxiety, so having something to focus my nervous energy on helped a lot. I’ve always loved photography and spooky content, so it’s always been fun for me to do.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Professionally, I work in healthcare. But I’ve been working on my photography in my free time, again focusing on spooky content (cemeteries, haunted locations, etc.). Around 2023 I shifted my focus from locations as a whole to being more about individuals, especially when photographing cemeteries. I was really enjoying sharing stories on my page about people that have long since passed, whose graves are often passed by with no one knowing who they were.

I’m super excited to have been able to publish photography based books on the subject. So far, I’ve had books published about Colonial Park Cemetery in Savannah, Burial Hill in Plymouth and Old Dutch Burial Ground in Sleepy Hollow. I have upcoming books about Charter Street Cemetery in Salem and the Unitarian Churchyard, they will be out in January and February 2026. I also just finished writing a book about Westminster Burying Ground in Baltimore, where Edgar Allan Poe is buried.
