Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Libby Eve Taylor Welch. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Libby Eve, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I grew up up with a single mum who had to work full time from when I was three months old. Throughout my childhood I was very driven and my mum from the age of about 5 told me I could do anything I wanted, although at the time I did say that I wanted to become the queen of England.
I suffered with anxiety throughout my teens and that kind of forced me to work hard because of a fear of failure however, as I grew into an adult I was able to channel that into a strong work ethic.
I have always enjoyed a lot of different things and never known which one to commit to, so I would commit to all of them and this meant in my late teens becoming a swim teacher, fitness instructor and personal trainer.
I loved history and theatre so decided to do both at uni and make them both work and now I work four different jobs so I am able to live the lifestyle I want to and audition for theatre jobs that I want.
On top of that I decided to create a small business because I wanted to be my own boss and make my own mark on the world.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
By trade I’d say I’m an actress but to be honest, I feel like I’m so much more than that!
I currently work as a personal trainer, swim teacher and singing/acting teacher, these are what I call my ‘real world’ jobs.
But, I guess more importantly, I am currently trying to grow my Instagram following (@Libby.eve.taylor.welch) where I have all different kinds of content from musicals to fitness to travel. I have recently created a YouTube channel, with the same kind of content (@Libbyevetaylorwelch).
I also and most importantly created a small business called LTW Store (which is on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and has an Etsy store) where we sell musical theatre style merchandise. Who doesn’t love a tote bag or stickers for your water bottle??
I decided when I finished my masters that I wanted to put MY stamp on the world so I have decided to do everything I can to create a positive space to inspire others.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
For me, the three most useful qualities that have helped on my journey are resilience, organisation and stubborness.
You cannot let anyone tell you your not good enough and have to always bounce back and prove them wrong, whilst completing my masters my brother died in a tragic accident and my university told me to defer a year but I was not going to let him down by giving up and managed to prove to everyone there that I was strong enough to come through and do it with style.
I could not have got to where I was without a planner and the calender on my phone, I try to respond to emails and messages within an hour of getting them because then it’s done and you don’t have to worry about forgetting and losing control of your inbox.
Now stubborness I mean in the nicest way possible, I am a massive activist about pretty much everything, and I will stand up for anything I believe is right!! I have a history degree and spent a lot of time looking at the horrors of the Nazi regime which gave me a passion for human rights! So never give in and keep that stubborn and belief in what you think is right.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I’m always looking for new people to collaborate with and learn from! I am honestly happy to work with anyone who has a passion for something, be it theatre, fitness, travel, to be honest anything. I like to spread positive vibes and honest stories about my life and situations.
If you’d like to collaborate you can drop me a message on Instagram @Libby.eve.taylor.welch or email me @[email protected]!!
