Meet Lidia Lima

We recently connected with Lidia Lima and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Lidia, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
My purpose in photography came from a deep love for preserving moments, especially the ones that go by too fast. I started noticing how much emotion and connection could be held in a single image, and I realized I didn’t just want to take pictures… I wanted to tell stories!! Whether it’s a growing family, a couple in love, or a bride on her wedding day, I feel honored to capture real emotions that people can look back on for the rest of their lives. That’s when I knew this wasn’t just a job, it was my way of serving others, of freezing memories they’ll cherish forever.
Over time, it became clear: my purpose is to give people the gift of remembrance filled with love, authenticity, and beauty.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a lifestyle and wedding photographer based in South Florida, and I specialize in capturing real, emotional moments for couples, families, expecting mothers, and weddings. My goal is always to create a relaxed, joyful experience where people feel seen, loved, and celebrated — both in front of the camera and when they look back at their photos. What excites me most about what I do is the connection. I don’t just take pictures — I witness memories as they unfold. I get to watch love grow, families expand, children laugh, and couples celebrate once-in-a-lifetime milestones. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that my work helps preserve those moments forever.
Something I love about my brand is how personal it is — I truly care about every client and approach every session with heart, creativity, and intention. Most of my clients become friends, and I believe that’s what makes the experience so special.
Right now, I’m excited to be offering limited summer beach sessions, as well as a new experience for my wedding clients: a custom welcome box for every bride who books with me. It’s my way of saying thank you and helping them feel supported from day one.
If you’re looking for a photographer who will cheer you on, make you feel comfortable, and tell your story with honesty and heart — I’d love to connect.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been:

1. Patience — Growth takes time. Whether it’s building your portfolio, finding your voice, or learning how to work with different clients, nothing happens overnight. I had to learn to trust the process and keep showing up, even when results weren’t immediate.
2. Empathy — As a photographer, being able to connect with people emotionally is everything. When clients feel safe and seen, they open up — and that’s when you capture the most meaningful images. Developing genuine empathy helped me not just take better photos, but also build stronger relationships.
3. Curiosity & Willingness to Learn — I didn’t stop learning after I got my first camera. I still study light, posing, editing, communication, and business. Staying curious and open to growth has allowed me to improve consistently and adapt to the changing industry.

My advice to anyone just starting out:
Be kind to yourself. Your early work won’t be perfect — and it doesn’t need to be. Focus on serving people well, ask questions, seek feedback, and never stop learning. Most importantly, lead with passion and heart. If you genuinely care about what you do and who you do it for, the rest will follow.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal client is someone who values connection, emotion, and authenticity. They’re not just looking for pretty pictures, they want meaningful memories frozen in time. Whether it’s a couple madly in love, a growing family, or a mama-to-be embracing a new chapter, my favorite clients are the ones who show up as themselves and trust me to tell their story with heart.
They don’t stress about perfection, they care more about capturing the feeling of the moment. They laugh, they cry, they hold hands, they play with their kids, and they let me in to witness it all. That kind of openness is what allows us to create something beautiful and real together.
If you’re someone who cherishes candid, emotional storytelling and wants a photographer who will guide you gently and cheer you on through the whole process, we’ll be a perfect fit!
