Meet Lidia Lins

We recently connected with Lidia Lins and have shared our conversation below.

Lidia, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

Finding my purpose came after my 30s I would say. Having lived a great part of my career dedicated to Science, I after discovered that I had come here to do something completely different: guide others in their own healing path through music and coaching.
One could say that that was too far stretched, but I would say that I was just ignoring the signs for a long time.
I sing since I was 12, and singing has always been a way to bring me back to my true self, a tool for healing.
I have also noticed that very often people would come to me for advice about how they felt, and after my PhD I also found myself coaching others “officially”.

A few years later, I created my own method of the so called “voice activation”, a program that helps specially women to communicate more authentically and from the heart. This method combines both scientific and ancestral knowledge, singing and listening, and theory and practice to foster healing from the inside out.

When I see the huge transformation others go through during this process, I know I have found my true calling.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am a Brazilian artist and coach based in Portugal with a background in science and a deep curiosity about the human mind. A few years ago, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery that has led me to become a singer, songwriter, a voice activation and a stress and burnout coach.

From an early age, I demonstrated a keen interest in understanding human behavior. My inquisitive mind led me to delve into self-help books as a child, and I was always driven to comprehend why people behave the way they do. This curiosity ultimately led me to pursue a scientific education. Alongside my education, I had a strong interest in music and art and despite having an innate talent, I have never considered it as a serious path to follow.

After dedicating a significant part of my life to scientific studies, I reached a turning point and realized that, while science provided valuable answers, unraveling complex mysteries, there was more to life than just empirical facts.

It was when I moved to Portugal that the sparkle of music was lit up again. I felt a huge urge to express my authentic self through my voice and by doing that my music path has reopened. I started not only to sing back again, but also to write my own songs and coach others in their own healing journeys with their voices.

I am passionate about creating a safe space for women to reclaim their power and express themselves through meditation, journaling, and voice activation. My voice activation sessions aim to empower individuals to reconnect with their inner selves and communicate effectively, fostering emotional elevation and gratitude.

The voice reflects the deeper layers of our inner being. It doesn´t see science, the individual, or nature as separate. It tells a story of experiences and emotions that are shared across different human beings, nationalities, and cultures. A story that brings us back to the idea that we are all interconnected.

After working with several women, I have created my own program called “Your Naked Voice Mentorship” that has had several editions and helped dozens of women to reclaim their own power. The next intake of the program starts in September and it will bring lots of new content and transformational practices.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

My opinion is that in whatever area of your life that you want to develop, knowing yourself first is paramount.
Knowing ourselves can help us navigate challenging moments and stick to our vision when things are not going the way we have planned. It help us trust the unknown.

If I have to choose three things that have been considerably important in my path these are:
– listening first, to others and yourself
– trust the unknown, science doesn’t know it all
– learn how to self-regulate when challenges haven’t become too big. The simple things in life matter.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?

An ideal client for me is someone who takes responsibility for their own healing journey. Remember that a coach is someone who is there to guide you and show the different possibilities that life can offer you, but a coach is not someone who will make the decision for you.
In the client’s transformational journey, working together is key, and a client who is aware of that is an ideal client to me.
