Meet LIIA KAMKADZE

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful LIIA KAMKADZE. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with LIIA below.

Hi LIIA , thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.

I came to the United States two years ago, and from the moment I arrived, I felt an incredible level of support from the people around me

I had always dreamed of building my own audience and becoming a well known content creator, but for a long time I felt like I was missing a key to actually start

Deep down, I think I always wanted to create content in English. But where I’m from, I didn’t have anyone around me doing social media in English, so it was hard to believe that I could do it myself

When I came to the U.S., I kept asking myself: how can I create content in English if I don’t even speak the language fluently? How can I film anything if I’m not confident speaking?

At some point, I made a decision that changed everything

I realized that sooner or later, I would start anyway. So instead of waiting, I chose to face the fear immediately

I allowed myself to fail

I gave myself permission to make mistakes, to sound imperfect, and to not have everything figured out

To me, it felt like jumping to a completely different level of life much faster than the traditional path

I knew people spend years learning a language before they start using it. I was 26 at the time, and I didn’t want to lose years of my life because of fear

We are not immortal

So I made a simple but powerful choice: I forgave myself in advance for all the mistakes I was going to make

And that decision helped me overcome impostor syndrome

Because once you accept that you’re allowed to be imperfect, there is nothing left to prove

You just start

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m Liya K, a Los Angeles based digital artist, creator, and storyteller building my journey in real time

I create content centered around real human connection, often filming in the streets and capturing authentic moments with people

I also speak a lot about self love and body acceptance, especially the importance of embracing your appearance even if it looks different from what people are used to seeing. My mom is Russian and my dad is Georgian, and like many Georgians, I have a prominent nose. It took me years to fully accept it and realize that it connects me to my culture. Now I embrace it with pride

In my videos, I often talk about how important it is to love your appearance and be proud of who you are, even if you look different from others

My work is about energy, confidence, and freedom, showing that you can start from zero and still build something meaningful in a new country and a new language

What makes my path special is that I started creating content in English before I fully knew the language, pushing through fear and growing my audience from scratch

Today my videos have reached over 150 million views, and I continue to evolve as a digital artist while staying true to my story

I want to share my journey to inspire people to do what they truly want, believe in themselves, and know that anything is possible when the desire is real

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Persistence, a deep love for life, and the ability to start from zero without fear have been the most impactful in my journey

One of the most important things is to surround yourself with people who truly believe in you. If you don’t have that kind of environment yet, go out and find it. Your belief becomes stronger when you hear every day that you can make it

Watch interviews with people who inspire you. If they did it, you can do it too

Read biographies of people you admire. Understanding their path helps you realize that success is never linear and that everyone goes through challenges

And most importantly, keep taking aligned action no matter how you feel. Even when your mood is low, even when it feels like nothing is working, even when it seems like you’re falling behind everyone else

Just keep going. Keep feeding your belief and keep taking action ❤️‍🔥

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

I would say it wasn’t a person, but an experience

When I was 21, I was diagnosed with cancer, and that completely changed my life

At that time, I was studying music education at a university and dreaming of becoming a successful artist. I was behind in vocals, so I spent all my free time training. I would stay for hours practicing, not because I truly enjoyed the process, but because I felt like I had to prove to my teachers that I deserved to be there

Later, I realized I was actually trying to prove it to my mom, because I thought I needed to earn love

When I got sick, my mom and I started having honest conversations for the first time. We talked about everything, including things we had never been able to talk about before

And eventually, I understood something very important
My mom has always loved me
I don’t need to prove that I’m worthy of love
I am worthy simply because I exist

That experience completely shifted the way I see life

Now I still have big goals and ambitions, but I truly enjoy the process. I pursue things because it feels good to grow and move forward, not because I need to prove something to someone

It’s a completely different energy

Every time I face challenges, I go back to that moment and remind myself
Liya, you’ve got this. Just enjoy the journey, every step, even the hard ones

There’s no need to rush
There’s no need to prove anything to anyone

We’re just here to do what we love, because life is one, so why not enjoy it

I believe this experience is what gave me such a deep love for life. I’m not afraid to start from zero, because I don’t compare myself to others, I just enjoy my own path

And persistence… I think I was born with it
