Lily , so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I keep my creativity alive by surrounding myself with things, people, and environments that spark joy and inspiration. I love bright colors and eye catching patterns so my house and work spaces are filled with fun! Creativity is a big part of how I make my income so staying fresh and inspired is really important to me. I like to do things daily that help keep my brain active and creative, whether that is Pinterest or playing a game that gets you to think outside the box!
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My brand CurrentlyLily came to life about 6 years ago and has been the most exciting part of my life! CurrentlyLily is a name encompassing my online store, personal shopping services, and social media endeavors. As for my online store, I sell curated secondhand affordable fashion and I love every minute of it. Sourcing secondhand is such a cool way to bring unique and special styles to my shoppers. Along with that, personal shopping and styling is equally close to my heart and helping people pick out outfits knowing they will look unique brings me such joy! In this New Year, I hope and plan to host more pop-up shops and be a vendor at more markets so I can meet more of my customers face to face!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three qualities most impactful on my journey were patience, joyfulness, and creativity.
Patience is a tough one but waiting for the right opportunity is always worth it! Don’t sell yourself short just because of eagerness or impatience! Joyfulness and creativity go hand in hand but always being able to find the joy in the moment or make the most of situations is such a crucial part of the journey. With unexpected ups & downs, having the joy of the Lord keeps ya going!
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
By far the most impactful thing my parents did for me was letting me be creative and explore random hobbies that eventually helped create my business as I know it. If they had not been so enthusiastic and happy to help me grow my business I don’t think I would be nearly as successful. They continue to support and encourage me all the time so I’m incredibly grateful for them and the impact they have had on not only me but my business!
