We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lily Lin,Lin Chen N/A a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Lily Lin,Lin Chen, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Feel deeply, live in the present moment, and sense what truly brings you joy and peace in life. Try everything that interests you until you find something you never tire of doing, something that gives you energy. Connect with it, move closer to it, and pursue it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Our studio was established in a relatively remote seaside town in Hualien, Taiwan. Through our work, we hope to showcase an alternative lifestyle for those who have left their hometowns to live in the city. We aim to bridge the urban-rural divide and encourage people to connect more with nature. Living in harmony with the natural world, in a comfortable and organic environment, should not conflict with personal growth. Living in nature is one of the most exciting and healing experiences.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Keep an open heart, faith, and a humble attitude toward learning. Remember your goals, and accept everything the universe has arranged for you. An open heart can bring more opportunities, and it’s important not to fall into the trap of comparison when facing your own shortcomings. Transform feelings of inadequacy into motivation to learn from others. Most importantly, have faith! The power of belief is far stronger than we can imagine.
All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
Our biggest challenge is figuring out how to attract people to spend more time and money coming to our relatively remote studio for tattoos. Until our income stabilizes, we still need to work in the city each month to balance things out while continuing to promote our rural lifestyle. If we can make a positive impact on even one person through this journey, then it will all be worth it.
