Meet Linda Kaplan

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Linda Kaplan a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Linda, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I got my work ethic from my parents! I am from a small town in Austria. I grew up having hard-working parents trying to give My siblings and I a beautiful life. My dad takes the bicycle every morning at 4:30 AM to work. He doesn’t care if there’s rain or anything. My mom is a teacher and supports children with special needs and she is the person with the biggest heart. Even though I don’t see my parents every day anymore I am so grateful and blessed to look up to them and be able to call my best friends! Also, my parents would always pick me up at anytime of the day and night! They are always there and would save me out of every situation! I have learned that if something is really important to you, you do everything in your power to make it happen!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My name is Linda Kaplan, and I’m a 24-year-old photographer and creative director based in the United States. I was born and raised in a small town in Austria, and a little over three years ago, I moved to America all by myself to follow my dreams. It might sound cliché, but I’ve always been the girl with big dreams and a love for storytelling through art.

In 2024, I built my own photography business — a space where I can bring my creative vision to life and capture moments that truly mean something. I get to be part of people’s most special and beautiful days, from weddings and engagements to brand collaborations and creative campaigns. Every shoot allows me to combine emotion and artistry, and there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone smile or relive a memory through my photos.

Before photography, I grew up as a theater kid in Styria, Austria. I went to a musical-based middle and high school, started dancing when I was six, and have always loved performing on stage. That background in the performing arts shaped how I see light, emotion, and storytelling today.

Now, my work blends that same passion for creativity and expression — whether I’m directing a brand shoot or capturing the joy of a wedding day. Photography, to me, is more than an image; it’s a feeling you can hold onto forever.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

That’s a very good question!!
In my opinion: Just do it! Sometimes fake it till you make it! Be bold and try everything which comes to your mind!

I started my business because I always loved capturing meaningful moments. But then I went on a solo trip to Hawaii and San Diego and ended up Shooting my first wedding there. You never know how far you will go if you always stay in your comfort zone! So I think one of the three qualities or skills that were most impactful in my journey is my eager to learn and always trying my best! Because if something goes wrong, you learn from it and make it better next time! That’s how I learn when it comes to my camera, for example!

My advice to people who would be just believing in yourself! Because if you believe in yourself, you are convinced that you can do it so you try out everything! You can also learn from others! It’s important to not compare yourself, but take advice from people who have experience! Don’t feel embarrassed to ask people for advice! That’s how you learn!

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I’m always open to collaborating with creative minds and passionate people. In the future, I’d love to work with big fashion brands and explore more editorial and commercial projects. I love both sides of photography — the artistic, conceptual work and the real, emotional moments shared with people.

There’s something so special about seeing someone relive a memory through a photo, but I’m equally obsessed with creating bold, editorial concepts where I can let my imagination run wild. I enjoy having the creative control to build a vision from scratch — from the mood board to the final image.

If you’re a brand, model, stylist, or creative who loves to push boundaries and tell stories through visuals, I’d love to connect! You can reach me through my website or Instagram to create something amazing together.
