Meet Linda Vicky Escamilla

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Linda Vicky Escamilla. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Linda Vicky with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

My worth ethic is a combination of my upbringing, my family, and culture. My parents immigrated to the States and I watched my dad worked hard as a mechanic as the man of the household and my mother being a stay at home mom, by taking care of my three brothers and I. Financially, my family did struggle and barely made enough just to make ends meet. My dad did his best to provide to his family despite his battle with cancer. He was my hero and someone who I will forever look up to. There’s been days in my career where I feel like I can’t, but then I remembered how strong my dad was and I use that as my fuel to keep going. I know that he would never want me to give up my hard work. In addition, my upbringing was not easy. However, all that I went through so far in my life, it has shaped me to become the hard working woman that I am today.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am a licensed massage therapist and small business owner of The Detox Lounge. When I started my massage business, it was originally named Camilla Bodywork, however, I decided to give my business a new name to align with my speciality which is lymphatic drainage and post op massage. I recently moved my business to Orange County in Old Towne Orange, which was very exciting and I am currently loving the new location! There is something new happening in my life which is going back to school for my esthetician license! I am passionate about beauty and skincare and this is something that I would like to add to my business and become dual licensed in my career.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three qualities that I believed that have been impactful to my career is being knowledgable, being passionate, and my determination. My advice for those who are starting off in their journey, is to never give up. There’s going to be days where you will struggle and are going to want to give up, however, deep down I know you don’t want to. This is where you will need to understand the basic law of growth : that great things do not happen overnight.

How would you describe your ideal client?

My ideal client is someone who values and respects me, my time, and my business. It would be someone who I enjoy working with, a good candidate for my services, and who I can share and align common things and interests with. A client who shares my work to family and friends ( word of mouth referrals are the best!) Most importantly, a client who tells me that my treatment room is their safe space and appreciates the work I provide for them.
