Meet Lindsay DiDonna

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lindsay DiDonna. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Lindsay, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I invest quite a bit in myself. With that said, I work with the Mental Performance Coach from the Atlanta Braves once a week. In the time that I’ve worked with him, he has coached me on confidence… he says that he has seen a lot of athletes who do not compete with confidence because they believe that confidence is a feeling. He tells me that there are going to be many times that I will not ‘feel’ confident but I must learn to always behave confidently – I must focus on ‘doing’ confidence, rather than ‘feeling’ confident.

With this coaching, I have worked diligently to ensure that I put into practice daily what he’s taught me. There are still days where I do not ‘feel’ confident about something, but ultimately. I put into place the actions that will make me confident.

Some of the areas that I place the most attention on to assist me with this are:
1. Practicing Self-Care – I’ve learned that it’s not selfish to care for myself first
2. I work to build positive relationships with those around me. I keep my circle small and ensure that I’m surrounded with people who make me strive to be better and to challenge myself and take risks.
3. I am a work in progress and employ a growth mindset
4. I practice positive self-affirmations

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am not originally from Colorado. I grew up on 40 acres in Missouri on Table Rock Lake. I’m a small-town girl at heart and any opportunity that I have to leave the city, I do. I have three children. 17, 16 and 10. My kids are very involved in sports so we’re active as much as possible. Some of our favorites are volleyball, baseball and anything camping or water-related.

Ornery Olive is not my only business. I also own and operate a high-school fundraising business. I work with high-school sports, activities and travel/club teams to assist them in raising funds for their programs. I can also work with elementary and middle schools as well.

There are many times that Ornery Olive flows into that business as well because I often treat the coaches/staff that I work with to boards, etc.

At this time, I do have some specific initiatives that I’m exploring with Ornery Olive, but their still in the works so keeping them a secret! Stay tuned!

However, I do recommend that if you’re looking to order a board or request a table for an event for the holiday months, to do so as quickly as possible because my calendar is booking quickly!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Always surround yourself with people who believe in you and your vision. Don’t allow anyone in your circle that wants to dampen your dreams. Sure, there is something to be said about educating yourself, doing research and making wise decisions but don’t be afraid to take risks. If you feel in your gut that you’re onto something, go for it. We’re allowed to make mistakes, this is how we grow. Always follow the fire in your heart!

1. Do Confidence
2. Take Risks
3. You are the company you keep

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
The most impactful book I could recommend is Winning by Tim Grover.

Some of the most important components within the book talk about mediocrity and how it can be detrimental to success. He talks about the challenges and obstacles that stand in ones way while they’re working to achieve success and how to overcome them.

In addition, he discusses the thirteen crucial principles for achieving unbeatable performance.

Fantastic read, I highly recommend it.
