We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lindsay Kaye a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Lindsay, thanks for taking the time to share your lessons with our community today. So, let’s jump right in – one of the most essential skills for unlocking our potential is self-discipline. Where does your self-discipline come from?
A lot of my self-discipline comes from dance. I started dancing when I was four, and from a young age I learned how to commit and dedicate myself to something. I spent a lot of time training in the studio, which meant giving up free time, but it taught me consistency and patience. Progress didn’t happen overnight, and seeing how that discipline paid off and opened new opportunities has stuck with me throughout the years.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
First and foremost, I am an artist. I started dancing at the age of four and most recently had the opportunity to perform at the Rady Shell in A Night of Christmas as a ballet and contemporary dancer. I also love to write and sing. This year, I released two country songs titled “Skinny Margarita” and “Too Country for California,” and I’m looking forward to recording my next two singles in NYC before the New Year. These upcoming songs are pieces I’ve wanted to write for a long time and focus on heartbreak and loss. They will be released in early 2026 and are titled “Virginia is for Lovers” and “Too Soon.”

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I think having integrity, staying consistent, and persevering through different seasons of life have been the most impactful for me. I would tell others early in their journey to stay true to who they are, remain consistent even when it’s hard, and keep moving forward even when you don’t feel like it (your future self will thank you). If you do this over time, especially long periods of time, you’ll get closer to reaching your goals and dreams.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes, I love working with others and love collaborating with other artists, musicians, content creators, brands, etc. You can email me at [email protected] or find me on Instagram @lindsayykaye
