Meet Lindsay Shaver

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lindsay Shaver. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Lindsay , you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?

For me generosity comes easily because I love to enjoy things with other people, and I love to see other people enjoying themselves. When everyone is having a good time, I have a good time!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’ve spent over 20 years running niche brands like DeadRockers & L’esquelet, both born from my love of history, music, artistry, and the beautifully strange. Much of that time has been spent traveling for business, seeking out the kinds of places that most people overlook: the old-world streets, hidden shops, and hauntingly beautiful corners of a city that tell its real story.

Travel has always been a form of discovery for me, not just of new destinations, but of culture, design, and human connection. After years of planning my own journeys, I decided to channel that experience into becoming a travel advisor.
Now I get to help people experience the world in a more meaningful way, finding the unique, the atmospheric, the unforgettable. And what many don’t realize is that working with a travel advisor doesn’t cost anything extra, but it does open doors: complimentary breakfasts, room upgrades, insider experiences, and a far more effortless trip overall. My goal is to create travel that feels like a story, curated, layered, and a little bit timeless.

Adding Travel Advisor to my list of services is just one more hat I decided to try on, and I love the way it fits!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

3 Most Important:
– Never Stop Learning & Pursuing:
Taking on more titles, wearing more hats, are phases of growth. Growth always requires learning!

– Research:
So much of what you want to do in life just takes research on how to do it.

– Budget:
If you can’t manage money, even in small amounts, you’ll always struggle. Learn basic savings methods, and good budgeting skills early on.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?

As I start to wear my new Travel Advisor hat more, I work with all walks of life, and love tailoring trips to each clients style, tastes, & preferences. I love that variance that it brings!
So ideal characteristics would be: honest about what you want from your trip (so I can plan the best customized itinerary for YOUR style). I would also love for an ideal client to be open about trying new idea recommendations (trusting that I always with their preferences in mind!) The more personalized I can be, the better experience for the client. So the more details I have about them, the better I can plan amazing memories for them!
