Meet Lindsey Crouch

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lindsey Crouch. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lindsey below.

Lindsey, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

I think that imposter syndrome is more a thing now because of how social media has grown in our society. Social media can be a great place for positivity and ideas, but it can also be the downfall of your business. To be successful we need to have the balance set. We see great ideas from very creative people all over socials, but we also have to be able to validate that our own ideas are just as creative- its more of a being better than yourself than a comparison to someone else! I don’t believe I have quite fully overcome imposter syndrome when it comes to trying to create new things for my business (we have good days and bad days, right?!), but I believe that I have built confidence and self-esteem to know what I am doing is one of a kind and my own journey is also that– one of a kind. Keep moving forward and it’s ok to look in the rear-view mirror once in a while, but don’t let it be the definition of what you can achieve!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I create spectacular apparel items for a variety of people and companies! It can be just a family member coming in to get custom game day shirts to cheer on their little athlete or it can be a company needing hundreds of prints for a special event. There is nothing too big or too small for what we can do at TNT Designs TX. I think the most exciting thing is when I have a customer come pick up and they are overly excited about the finished product. It could take days or even weeks working with the customer to get the perfect design set for what they need. And when they come in saying that what we did was better than they could imagine makes all the difference. We are a small/family business so there is something a little more personal in our phone calls and emails with our customers. Like everyone we enjoy our holidays and vacations– we have hours of operations so that we can find that work-life balance just like you!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I think that 3 major qualities you need to have (or can learn to have!) are: Dedication, Work Ethic, and Balance. Dedication to what and why you are doing this. Work Ethic because entrepreneurs NEVER stop working. And balance because we can get lost in our work sometimes and forget what to and when to prioritize outside of work. I think that if you can maintain these 3 qualities– I promise it’s ok to stray away at times as we are not perfect– you can go far in this crazy world and be HAPPY just living instead of comparing your life to someone else.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

When you feel overwhelmed, just stop. Stop and think about the causes. Are you overwhelmed by a project at work, a family member, work-life balance? Take a breath- take a break and reevaluate the importance of things, your priorities.
