We were lucky to catch up with Lindsey Morris recently and have shared our conversation below.
Lindsey , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I developed my confidence and self-esteem through intentional self discovery and inner work. Over the years, I’ve done a lot of healing, reflection, and personal development, especially through inner child work, which has helped me to understand who I am at my core. One of the most pivotal moments was moving to a new city on my own, without knowing anyone. That experience alone has forced me to look inward like never before and helped me grow into a more grounded and authentic version of myself. I treat each new year of life as a checkpoint, to reflect on how far I’ve come, what I’ve learned, and how I can continue to evolve into my best version of myself.
A big part of confidence, for me, is knowing the value of the space I take up, even without having to speak. It’s about honoring my worth and showing up with clarity and presence. My sense of confidence is also reinforced by how I take care of myself whether that’s physically, emotionally, and mentally. Going to gym, investing in skincare, learning new makeup techniques, exploring personal style, and knowing how to dress for my physique, are all things that contribute to confidence to me. I truly think that at the core of real confidence, comes from how you speak to yourself and the way that you see yourself. That inner voice is what changed things for me. You have to know and see it in yourself, in order to believe it!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
So I was originally born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota and moved to Los Angeles about two and a half years on my own. While I was drawn to LA for the weather, culture, fashion, and travel opportunities, the deeper reason was that I wanted more for myself. I’ve always had a strong passion for life and experience, and I truly believe we have the power to curate the life we desire.
Currently, I work as a professional mentor for youth, helping them to set and work toward goals, explore new experiences, and providing consistent support as a positive role model. I love being able to watch my youth grow and for them to see their potential and spark in all that they do. I’ve always had a passion for uplifting others. Outside of my mentorship work, I also create content on Youtube through my channel, Authentic Moments. I share fun vlogs and lifestyle content, but at its core, it’s really a place where I get to reflect on personal growth and share honest experiences. I wanted to build a platform rooted in authenticity. One that captures real, raw moments and emotions.
I truly believe that being myself is my superpower. My ability to connect deeply with others and speak honestly about my journey is what drives everything I do. Whether through mentorship or content creation, my intention is always to offer insight, inspire reflection, and remind others that they’re not alone in their journey.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, three of the most impactful qualities in my journey have been confidence, honesty, and discipline. Confidence gives you the courage to take risks and start, even when the path isn’t clear. Honesty allows you to assess what’s really working and what isn’t, both internally and externally and discipline keeps you consistent when motivation fades. One of the biggest shifts for me was learning not to be so results driven. I used to get caught up in outcomes, but real progress came when I started focusing more on the process, locking in on myself, building trust in my abilities, and believing that I could achieve what I set out to do. My advice to anyone early in their journey is: just start. Don’t wait to feel fully ready. Take the risk, even if it’s small. Write down what you want for yourself, get clear on your “why,” and then take consistent action. Be willing to learn, seek knowledge, and don’t get stuck in the need to figure everything out before moving. Clarity often comes after action, not before. But it starts with being willing to try.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
One of my biggest areas of growth over the past 12 months has been learning to set stronger boundaries, standing more confidently in my worth, becoming more willing to take risks, leading with action rather than overthinking, and letting go of unhealthy habits or relationships that no longer serve me.
