We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lindsey Perryman – Dunn a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Lindsey, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My self drive was instilled in me as a child both of my parents worked very hard to provide for our family. The sky is the limit and Perryman’s (maiden name) never quit was our family motto.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
At 18yrs old I began my 13 yr career working in audio production, starting at the Conservatory for Recording Arts & Sciences in Tempe, AZ. I interned at Chicago Trax and shortly there after hired full time working directly for the artist R. Kelly. My career then took me into tour production working with Nelly, Cash Money, Amelie, then music management for the artist Rakim while he was signed to Aftermath followed by working directly for Wayne Williams in the A&R dept in NYC for Jive Records. I returned to Chicago as R. Kelly’s general manager and then found myself as Executive Producer for Chicago Recording Company prior to meeting my husband and making major life changes which included moving to Arkansas starting a family and transitioning into healthcare. I just finished my DNP and owner of Priority Health Clinic in Benton, AR also providing physician house calls to those patients who can’t leave their homes to get to a PCP, we come to you! I own this with my business partner Dr. Bushra Shah

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Never Assume
2. Never quit, those who quit also give up right before they would have succeeded
3. If one door closes, 2 more usually open
Those just starting out, find God and lean on your spirituality. If the journey is difficult then you are on the right track!

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
The people who have mentored me and kept me going by advising me and supporting me when I needed it the most
1. My husband, Rick Dunn
2. My Dad, Les Perryman
3. My partner, Dr. Bushra Shah
4. Artist, R. Kelly
5. Audio Engineer Tim Butler at CRC
